Ok after consulting with my mate at the NRL and the guy at the tab 2011 looks to shape like this…

Wests Tigers
Dragons
Penrith
Dogs
Manly
Roosters
Sharkies
Souff's

An all Sydney top 8...what are the odds... 😱pen_mouth:

5000 to 1… How much do you want to give me???

I recommend you double check with the referee's Watto before handing out ridiculous odds like that…

 $2…

Geez ...I'll be bookmarking this thread....

1\. Broncos - Inglis n hannant, along with the off-season sacking of henjack, will ensure they return to the top
2\. Dragons - will still be consistent but will lack the firepower to win any of the big ones
3\. Roosters - will improve on this yr as they wont waste half a season with carney at fullback
4\. Storm - cronk, slater n smith will ensure the get a home semi
5\. Warriors - mateo will suit the warriors, plus they have some good unders 20s coming through
6**. Tigers - will find it harder than last yr as teams will be out to get us**
7\. Eels - new coach will train mortimer to actually ball play, rather than just support
8\. Titans - on the slide due to an old forward pack and the loss of the rat rogers
9\. Manly - another new halves pairing will struggle to lead the team around the park
10\. Dogs - will take time for the new combos to work
11\. Raiders - will struggle without camp-sleazy
12\. Panthers - dont know how they finished 2nd. one of the great mysteries of life
13\. Souths - halves arent good enough to get them to the 8
14\. Knights - Will have much the same yr as this yr
15\. Cowboys - need brian smith to make some hard decisions and do an even bigger cleanout
16\. Sharks - could be the last yr we see the sharks based at cronulla-sutherland

Dont worry about the other teams out to get us…the refs have taken care of that one!

I'm feeling very bullish about Wests in 2011\. The last time I felt like that was at the end of 2005… :frowning:

St George have lost Smith Costigan and Saffy that will hurt them although they seem to have a endless supply of good young forwads coming out of the Gong.

Really it all gets down to winning the majority of your close games and thats where experience counts a lot and we should have learn t a lot from 2010.

If Farah and Lawrence are out on SOO duty we might suffer mid season blues. Anyway anything under a top four finish will be seen as a bad season

ha yeah thats true. if they werent out to get us this yr the premiership would be ours!

1.Tigers- I think next season we will be hard to stop. Our senior players finally know what it takes to win games
2.Dragons-If Bennet stays in the top job they will be in the top 4 for sure.Losing some depth but not anyone vital
3.Dogs-Great recruitment drive for 2011.They will start slow but finish strongly
4.Broncs-Unlucky in 2010 the broncs cant miss 2 final series in a row.Awesome backline keeping Locyer fit will be the issue
5.Eels-New coach & within a couple of weeks will sign an expiernced 1/2 back which was all that lacking in 2010
6.Tits-Ageing squad but still a great roster. No threat in final series
7.Roosters-Lucky to make the GF in 2010.Will scape in in 2011 but be out in straight sets
8.Storm-Still have their 1,7,9 but the players around them are just a little too inexpiernced but the storm have a point to prove

I think the comp will be tougher next year, with big imrpovements from the Broncos, Dogs and a the reermergence of the Melbourne Storm. The Dragons will set the bench mark again despite losing a couple of forwards. The top 4 will be hard to crack I feel.

In saying that, with our squad for next year, there are no excuses for not easily making the top 8, and I think we will do that.

This is what I think…
1\. Dragons - will lose a couple because of Salary Cap, but will play that boring style of footy we all know
2\. Tigers - No real big losses player wise and we've got some great juniors coming through
3\. Broncos - great recruitment and Hannant and Inglis will really help them
4\. Roosters - Big season ahead of them. will be first for the first half of the season and then will lose a few going into final series
5\. Raiders - Will have a great season and will be ready to shake it up next year
6\. Storm - Will be hungry although they have lost key players will be very hungry.
7\. Knights - The Eels of 2009\. Some great signings and a lot of depth
8\. Eels - Ride the wave of blah, blah, blah. Will also get Orford, I reckon.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9\. Titans - will have a great start to the year and then will fade away. They will be really cocky like the Roosters.
10\. Sharks - Great signings and will improve hugely.
11\. Bulldogs - will be out to improve the overrated piece of crap they were and won't do much.
12\. Manly - Will really miss Hodgkinson, and will be the team without a halfback.
13\. South Scum - Will get real cocky first half of the season with beating the Dragons, then we'll smash 'em and will really suck.
14\. Warriors - Will have a really bad 3/4 of theseason and then try and run home.
15\. Penrith - Most overrated side EVER! Their forwards will be really lazy and won't do anything.
16\. Cowgirls - Just can't find a bond with players. Will have a miserable season and Thurston will get sacked for swearing at every ref.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First half of season ladder
1\. Roosters
2\. Broncos
3\. Dragons
4\. Tigers
5\. Broncos
6\. Titans
7\. Parramatta
8\. Raiders
9\. Storm
10\. Manly
11\. Warriors
12\. Bulldogs
13\. Knights
14\. Penrith
15\. Sharks
16\. Cowboys
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finals Series
Roosters 18 - Raiders 30
Broncos 38 - Storm 6
Tigers 48 - Knights 12
Dragons 22 - Eels 12
Semis
Raiders 14 - Storm 4
Broncos 6 - Roosters 18
Prelims
Raiders 6 - Tigers 24
Roosters 10 - Dragons 12
GF
Dragons 14 - Tigers 30
Tigers win 2011 comp!

I get very uneasy about everyone placing the Tigers up so high. I agree there is a lot of potential in the side off the back of this year. Add in the return of Moltzen and Tuiaki and a top four would have to be the goal.
But everyone tipped Parramatta to do well last season and they were rubbish. Granted their administration is a shambles and Humphries is top notch, but i just think we can't predict anything until they run out on to the paddock and play their first game. Round one will be our biggest indication on how they will go.

Geez comps arent won in march.
We got toasted by parra in rd 1 in 2005.
The back end is where it needs to come together, the third 3rd

Sheens usually talks about the importance of winning the early games of the season to set up for later on, I'll go with that approach especially if we lose players to SOO or injury, get the points on the board early rather than having to try and get them later when the pressure is on.

Go with whatever you like, bu that didnt help us in 2007 & 2008 when mid season we were in the 8 only to fall away at the tail.

You want your momentum and form to be peaking at the back end…

I agree with the 3rd 3rd….

but while you certainly can't win a comp in March...you certainly can loose one (Dogs/Parra/Souff's) slow starts certainly cost them this year....Made everygame a must win game for them and the crumbled much like we did in 07 & 09....

The goal should be not to loose two in a row...WWWWLWLWBWWWWLWLWBWWWWWWWW...

Something like that,,

They can be lost though my friend. You can't underestimate what winning games early in the season can do for the side. We're not playing catchup from round one.
As long as the boys can pick themselves up from our prelim final loss then we'll be alright.

No…not in round one which is what you mentioned.
Im not underestimating early games, I havent mentioned them....that doesnt mean to say we can afford to lose them- which something I will never endorse
