Where would you play benji?

Silly thread really. 5/8 and thats it folks!!!

x2\. Hypotheticals in this situation are pointless because Benji will always play in the halves.

I think hed be OK under the bomb in the one, and he has the vision to be able to dictate to the defense line from there…I'd be curious to see how he goes there as he'd have to be more direct and less lateral, though this if it at all was to be done probably shoulda been done when he was younger and quicker

The ironic thing about calls to put Benji at fullback are that if he had played all his career at Fb people would be saying put him at 5/8\. Like they did with Lockyer.

Benji isn't a Lockyer… Doesn't come close!

No matter how good lockyer was always had a great pack in front of him played alongside some of the greatest players in the world for a long time. Benji can do things nobody and I mean nobody could do. You put Benji behind that Brisbane pack they had and in that origin side he'd destroy teams. This isnt taking anything away from Lockyer but Benji is right up there.

well think about the players who are similar to him now… barba, slater, hayne.. they are all playing incredible footy in the #1\. they'd all be just as effective as benji at five eight if persisted with.

if he can handle the high ball, slotting him at fullback creates a new dimenson of attack for us. i also think it would help robbie control more around the ruck, and allow the 6 & 7 whoever they may be to manage a side of the field each allowing benji to chime in when he see's something - where he can still utilise those five eight skills.

i mean moltzen made the switch and managed to do a good job for a while. i would think benji would be even better.
