Where's our next 7

Personally I think Brooks was good last night and the last 6-8 weeks since the Knights game at least he has been a good NRL halfback and you can see the impact Ivan has had. I think he will have a great year next year. Talk about bias blaming a bloke for recieving a forward pass jesus

Well written. He is improving with each game and I have no doubt he will continue to improve under the tutelage of Cleary.

It didn't just happen once but twice mind you and the second at a critical time. Add to that some really ordinary kicks in the first half with the wind behind us…..Oh yeah how bout the final play of the game!!!! That is Luke Brooks. God could be coach next season and he wouldn't improve. Come on guys OPEN YOUR EYES!!!

Disagree with this.
I don't know what game some of you are watching but I haven't seen any improvement from Brooks at all. Could almost make a case that he's getting worse.
If anyone wants to have a wager about how we'll go next season with Brooks at 7 I'll gladly take your money.

Brooks has the skill set to do one or two special things in every game he plays and we seen that again last night. But that's not what a half is about. Our forwards were dominating yesterday and how many times did our kick give them back the advantage. We looked a lot better in the second half when Lolohea took over the kicking duties. Brooks kicking is horrendous and it doesn't get better. I'm hoping a full off season with Cleary will help because what he brings now won't be good enough to get us to semis next year.

What specifically does Brooks have to do to make everyone happy with his performances. Is it as simple as having a better kicking game ?

Yes a better kicking and passing game. He has loads of natural talent but plays dumb by taking the wrong option far too often. He does a couple of good things each game but does not fulfil his prime role of managing the game at the 5th tackle,

Wheres our next 7…..

Hopefully not in our juniors somewhere and being overhyped and labelled the next A.Johns..

as the wise man once told me "never go over ploughed ground"....

I'm prepared to give Brooks this next off season and about 6 rounds next year to really start controlling the team and dominating games, otherwise he can move on...I don't think he has what it takes...but heres hoping...

6 TRIES 15 Try assists 7 line breaks 56 tackles 0 missed and that's just the 1st half..

A half back handles the ball more than any other player bar the DH stands to reason that if you are looking for errors the percentage they make are also going to be higher.
He played pretty good last night was highly involved in two tries we scored that kept us in the game. As for the last play- wrong option- but ridiculous to rely on any player to be responsible for pulling a game out of the fire with twenty seconds on the clock, yet it seems that he is also being largely judged on not doing so.

Very ugly stats and that defence has gone backwards.

It would be good if we could concentrate on not giving our opponents starts so our halves are under pressure to perform miracles to get us back into games.

Easy. Just get him a halves coach.

I honestly think he just needs to be a little more consistent throughout the game. I think he is doing a lot of good things. His running game is good, his defence has been good (he misses some but so do a lot of halves), his passing game has been pretty decent and he is taking some good kicks.

I don't think he is much worse than a lot of halves in the game.

It's getting that way isn't it. If he takes a risk that doesn't come off he doesn't know how to direct a team. If he plays structured footy he is incapable of playing what he sees.

The last 6-8 weeks have seen a massive improvement from our blokes. If Brooks is our hb & this is his team then surely he has played a big part in that improvement.

I started to type out my criticism but made a few mistakes. Lucky I had the backspace button!

He made mistakes yesterday but other than perfecTwal so did a hole bunch of other players. Sure he over ran a couple of plays (we see plenty called play on week in week out) and his last kick was WTF. But he also delivered some great plays that kept us in the game. We win last night and he is a poster boy again. He is improving as is the rest of the team.

He has actually been good but people have really high expectations. I think he has to improve but it's such a tough position that we need to be a little patient with the kid.
