For next yr, not likely, cos how many quality players are still available in mid October? Could be clearing the decks for a massive assault for 2016 though.

Exactly , so why let go of the one of the few blokes we know who will put in week in week out and was creating chances in attack ??

Moses has a lot to live up to now , we have no back up policy to fall back on

I agree with you, Happy and I'm really ticked off about losing Austin too, but holding onto a player against his wishes would not serve him, or the team, well at all.

I really hope they have something up their sleeve for next year, something we're not privy to as CB said. If not, it's going to be a very long season, imo and we'll all be wanting 2016 to hurry up and come along - much like we were wanting this season to end quickly.

My point is Flip that in my opinion is Austin is the No 1 choice at 6 and Moses should have to win the jersey from him

But it is very obvious that Austin has been told otherwise

So much for people having to earn their jersey

We have been promised change , but all we have so far is smoke and mirrors

Same ol same ol

Austin said that he does not want to play for the Weststigers and wants to go to Canberra. Do you get it???

He asked to be released, not the club.

You want to keep a player that does not want to be here??

If the club refused to release Austin and Gavet you would no doubt drop crap on the club for it's decision.

Some people are never happy.

If we are open to pick up a top line player now in a position we need to fill (second row or centre,) I'd much rather fill the spot in 15 than 16.

If we have a crap season 2015 as appears very likely given our decimated playing roster we won't many attract many class players at all for 2016\. If by chance any would be interested they would want to be paid well over the going rate.

We have also lost Koro and BMM from our 2014 cap,so that is Anasta,Fulton,Patterson,Gavet,Austin,BMM and Koro, while signing Kev and Peni, there surely should be some space left in our cap,or else the previous management were even worse than i thought.

A lot of that cap space is being taken up by Lawrence. This will be the situation for at least a couple more seasons.

For 15 or 16? Apparently it might be a Roosters forward. My guess is Frank-Paul.

hope not. FP is hardly top line.

Well i read a comment from a guy on FB whose pretty reliable, said it was a Roosters forward whose a prop/lock. The only guy from the Roosters that fits that description is Frank-Paul. It makes sense that it would be a Rooster with the JT connection.

My read on the situation is, we have shopped a few players around hopping to clear the decks and get some salary cap relief and we did not get a nibble! So we are stuck with these players for at least another year or two. Would be good if the tweet re a top class forward is on the money, but I would imagine it would be a mid range player at best.

The term ''top line'' could be used very loosely. He could just mean a solid first grader, not necessarily a rep player.

I don't see much change at all;
In 2011 we were looking forward to a better season in 2012.
The 2012 better season didn't eventuate so we looked forward to a better 2013 season.
The 2013 better season didn't eventuate so we looked forward to a better 2014 season.
The 2014 better season didn't eventuate so we looked forward to a better 2015 season.
etc.

Theres been plenty of changes. Now bearing in mind that Blake's manager had already told us he'd signed with Canberra for 2016 and 2017 and it makes perfect sense to say ok see you later.Who was our best player last year?Blake Austin.Who will have a much better first grade career,Blake or Moses?Moses.Definitely.
