Looks like there may be a couple of contenders from Cronulla becoming available;

Maloney upgrade deepens the bite on Sharks

Following the retirement of Michael Ennis, there’s now a very good argument for James Maloney.

The five eighth wasn’t at the top of his game when signed for the Sharks midway through 2015 – a three-year deal worth about $1.6 million.

After winning a second premiership, regaining his Blues jersey and debuting for the Kangaroos last year, Maloney would now be worth considerably more on the open market. The 30-year-old knows as much and approached Sharks management some time ago, seeking a healthy upgrade for the remaining 18 months of his deal. So far there’s been no agreement reached; and the potential for tension has rivals – both here and in the UK - watching the situation closely.

Halves partner Chad Townsend is also off-contract and initially asked for $700,000-a-season. The Sharks recently tabled a three-year extension for Townsend that doesn’t quite meet that level, albeit quite competitive.

Expectations are that Jack Bird will make a call on his future today. The Sharks put a deadline on Bird for 5pm last Friday, but extended it after the in-demand utility met a group of influential supporters.

"Influential supporters". Do we have any that can talk to Teddy

Yes, Robbie Farah has had previous experience but he I would no longer recommend him (he is now a negative influence - ask Woods).

Oh well looks like it didnt work for the Sharks and had the opposite effect, let's hope Robbie has had the opposite affect as well and they stay.

I'm hearing we have spoken to Albert Kelly's management… How true that is I don't know... There's a few above average halves on the market (SJ, Widdop, Townsend)....
This year (if Moses is released early) I'd say JLJ or even Rankin (who is a natural 5/8) to play in the halves but I've also heard a lot of people throwing ET into the equation.

If Brooks isn't back this week and Moses is gone the 6/7 combo could be the worst we have fielded since 2001

If that is the case throw Mapesone in and see how he goes , this is Cleary's strength , getting the best out of young players straight into grade

Can't wait for Brooks never thought I'd say that. If Moses goes does Rankin come into consideration as he has played halves and he can kick ?

There's really no one else.

Look the season is over so I wouldn't be against having a combination of 6 Hunt 7 JLJ for a few weeks until the myth comes back.

I think Mapesone played Sydney Shield this week. Would be quite a jump.

Would anyone take Todd Carney? would be on cheap $$$ to bolster other positions…

I have mentioned Carney is a few threads. He would be my number one target to replace Moses due to the combination of his talent and lower price tag.

He was listed in the ISP team, don't know if he did play.
Would be interesting to see how he is going, always thought he went well in the U20s and would kick on. Big enough and can kick goals !
