I was desperate for Benji to leave when he did, so i cant believe im saying this, but why not bring him back for this year? We have no suitable half to partner Brooks, so lets take a punt on Benji having a decent few months which we all know he can have. How good would it be if Brooks and Benji lead a 2017 revival and we finish 8th while Moses at parra finishes 9th. Dreams can come true.

KS I know you think your OK , but get back on the meds man , your delirious :crazy

Lawrence is the right call , you all know it

Give Mapesone a try. He's been in the system for a few years,if he doesn't cut it,at least we'll know

I do not think he would have any trouble improving our attack, once Ivan Cleary has worked with him for a few weeks.
He has good vision! He has good pace! He can tackle! He can kick goals! He will cost less than Mitchell Moses!

Johnson is a great option as a running 5/8 but he would be hard to obtain from the Warriors. Milford would be another I would make a big money offer to.Widdop is good but he is not worth anymore than 650k.

With Moses surely being released in a couple of weeks who will play 5/8 this year???
Do we have any serious contenders or just making up the number players?

Going on Moses attempts …..Almost Anyone !!!!!

Moses isn't going anywhere this year unless Parra give us a massive compensation first.

Ivan will drop Moses and let his price tag decrease if he starts playing crap anyways

Pretty confident Benji would do a good job at least for the rest of 2017 season. He played pretty well for the Dragons and is wasted running round in a Broncos feeder team. His vast experience might take Brooks' game to the next level. Wouldn't cost the earth either. Can't see Benny having any problem releasing Benji to get a regular 1st grade gig!

Benny has plans for Benji
He will be playing during State of Origin

Only us fans are talking about Benji, everyone who matters hasnt even uttered his name.

Pascoe and Clearly, neither have mentioned Benji
Probably safe to say he wont be back

If he's still with the the club next week, I'd be curious to see Teddy as a running 5/8\. I noticed him doing some work in the halves after Brooks went off in the Dragons game. He wouldn't be the first fullback to switch.

Or the forgotten man Jackson Hastings..3 mins a week for Manly would be enough to drive anyone away

I posted this in another thread but both he and Cameron Cullen looked good for Blacktown today. Hastings controlled the game really well before getting injured. Cullen showed a lot of ability and commitment in all areas of the game. He's got a big boot on him, although I didn't notice his short kicking game.

Gareth Widdop would be great and he can kick goals. Moses can go, I despise him now for everything he's done.
Widdop for Moses - I'd definitely take that.

Moses proved tonight that it's a blessing that he's going. $1m a season means you steer your team to victory most weeks. That banana kick to nobody, with 4mins to go was a rash, immature play, the other elite halves in the comp like JT, Cronk DCE Maloney and even Widdop would've made a contest out of a kick, near the tryline or the corner.
Let Parra work that out of his game and buy us a game manager

Mind you, some of JT's options were nothing to write home about tonight either.

Just read that Kieron Foran is now managed by Sam Ayoub.

Buzz, Saint sinner shoosh, article in DT

Let Moses go happily. OK he jerked us around for 4 years, although in his press releases he was honest. He always said it was a "Business arrangement" but for some reason we punted Blake Austin to keep this club man. … Now that he is clear, let him GO!

If it is possible to bring Benji back, do so. He would be a good fit with Brooks and his biggest weakness (defense) has improved a lot). But something tells me it won't happen.

Now who is on the market:
Cronk! If we don't sign Tedesco then I reckon Cronk will come in as the NR7 with Brooks being the NR6.
Foran, Something tells me to pass him up. He played well at Manly and I reckon would bring the best out of Brooks. But he hasn't played well, at all. Let him sort himself out first, I don't think he will sort himself out here.
Cleary, This may happen at some stage.

Widdop is an awesome player who is playing well at the moment. DO NOT SIGN HIM, his form will drop and he clearly did not play will with Marshall and poor spine structure at St George. He won't play well here till we work ourselves out.

If none of these options come. Move Lawrence or anyone willing to give the position a good go. Lets bide our time and get the right person for the right price at 6.

Yeah …. who won tonight?

Moses is reportedly going to leave after Rd 7\. He is on $600K and Pascoe is talking tough about a release being of benefit to us, so as far as I can tell, we have 2 options:

1\. Replace from within
2\. Player swap with Parra

REPLACE FROM WITHIN
If we choose to do this, we've got very little depth. The options that jump out are:
1\. JLJ or Jack Littlejohn (affectionately known as LJL or Lack Jittlelohn by some @jirskyr)
2 Justin Hunt
3\. Jordan Rankin

Of those 3, you'd have to go with Littlejohn.

OR thinking outside the box, maybe bring up Heleta:
1\. Noffa/Heleta
2\. Heleta/Noffa
6\. Tedesco (Get the ball in his hands more, good tackler and chasing kicks from Brooks)
7\. Brooks

PLAYER SWAP
It's unlikely we'll get Gutherson in a straight swap, but he'd be my first choice. The main reason is he could be our fullback if Tedesco leaves which solves a huge potential issue for 2018.

If Parra aren't willing to swap Gutherson, it would need to be 2 or 3 players that we could use immediately to strengthen the team.

There's also Jeff Robson - I know he's old, but he can defend and might be able to do a job for us.

AUVA'A, Kirisome (Iffy considering his past)
JENNINGS, George (Hasn't seen much first grade, but has done well with limited opportunities)
GUTHERSON, Clinton (the top pick)
ROBSON, Jeff (I know he's old, but he can defend and might be able to do a job for us.)
BROWN, Nathan (Runs hard, but gives away dumb penalties)

I'd be interested to hear everyone's thoughts…
