Kenny Maumalo

Is he a possibility?

Rumoured.

I heard from a former NZ warrior we're in talks with Kenny, Gubb & Bhana…
NZ are keen to release a few players to even things out with all their recent signings and re-signings.

Watched a young lad in NSW cup the other week,
Manly VS Knights

Tony Satini -
He is off contract and he was quite good.
Looked a bit like Simona on the field.
Aggressive too.

Could be worth a look as well.

All of those Warriors are handy.

Update From Your Board:
Due to Financial constraints, and our new Austerity policy, From now on we will be playing Mini Rules in all our games so our team this week will only need 7 on the field and 2 reserves.

This will continue for the next 5 years, at which time , thanks to our astute management, we will be able to afford to buy A player. This will be an exciting step forward as we will then be then able to have three reserves.
The bad news is that , by that time, we will be playing in the Oodnagullabi Reserve grade.

Thank you for all the positive feedback on our new policies, but we are still trying to figure out the input from One of the Supporters.
We are unsure of what you want us to do with Mr Taylor , after he bends over the table, and what is the rolled up game plan for ?

Might have to put him on hold for 3 or 5 years.

I know the club states they will not be recruiting until 2017, but in saying that surely there is some money to buy a player like Jacob Loko from the Bulldogs.

He is a very talented centre defensively and in attack and is behind Morris and Lafai at the dogs. Plus his bad boy status and run of bad luck with injury would surely make him extremely cheap to acquire.

The other thing with him would be he would surely be keen as anything to get back into first grade as soon as possible.

He would be just what we need, an experienced first grade center with decent size and skills.

According to the tigers we are not signing anyone until 2017.

According to what? I've never seen anything which states that.

Some people who can't read have inferred that we won't sign anyone. Maybe for next season we won't be able to sign anyone of note, a fringe player or two at best. But for subsequent seasons there's room to make signings - unless farah, woods, teddy, and brooks are taking up 80-90% of our cap, which would be too ridiculous to comprehend.

No management, not even our morons from years past, would be so stupid to tie up that much of the cap in a handful of players.

What's wrong with Milone?

In the matches I have seen, I can't remember him doing anything special, but I can't remember him making errors and missing tackles. No breaks were made down his side of the field against Parramatta.

Paul Bowman (Nth Qld and Qld rep) made a career out of playing in this fashion.

Paul Bowman was a very strong ball carrier and an outstanding defender. He had little flair, but was a terrific player. Kane Linnett or Jack Reed are similar players.

Milone in my opinion is too limited to be a long term NRL player. He does not offer the hard running of a Bowman or Linnett and is not exactly a mistake free player. On recent form he seems a better option than Hoeter.

Maybe not a known centre but a guy looking for an opportunity is Justin Hunt, played for the Dragons last week and filled in for Dugan at fullback and i thought he was their best. We could do with some outside back experience and he'd be dirt cheap.

I agree. He's a safer defender than Hoeter, but that's like saying Ava is faster than Galloway.

I don't rate him. But he's part of the new boys club.

From what we told this week we can't even afford dirt.

i know that chance peni has already been mentioned in this thread and according to last years stats he was at 95kg and 1.88m tall (6'2"). have never seen him play, already on the books, could he be a real option as a centre next season ? any thoughts ?
