The team so far the has surprised me the most is the Cowbees . Did not expect them to be playing so well . Best signing also the Cowboys but not a player . Peter Ryan defensive coach has done wonders up there so far . I personally picked the Cowbees for wooden spoon but at this stage they are certainly not going to get that . Anyone else have any thoughts on the subject PS Know that there season would fall on its head if Thurston got injured again

Yeah North QLD are going better than I expected but it's only early days yet.

Gotta with the ^^ U-dog.

I remember him from back in his dogs days and he was a speedy little beast.
Then he some what fell off the radar and then I heard the tigers were signing him and I thought; aw no, he's a washed up little fat kid.
Didn't expect much and I was a hater at first but he's definitely proved me wrong, he's been great for us this year and it's good to see.

The Storm, Broncos and the Cowboys for me which are teams which have surprised me and probably most, disappointments being Canberra and the Titans

The Storm are on a mission after the disappointment of last year - they are blowing teams off the park atm. Cowboys are the big surprise for me, as well, and perhaps Newcaslte, but then they always seem to start well and falter as the season progresses. Matt Utai - buy of the year!

Corey Paine going great guns - his ball playing is a revelation to most, even the commentators have been asking, "wheres this been?"
But we saw it ….glimpses of it, unfortunately - just before he left us.
I guess sheens told him to put it away...we only saw it a few times

For me it's Canberra flopping, I had them as a top 4 side.
Also if you look at the current ladder, only 3 (Us, St George and Manly) sides that made the finals last year are in the 8.
Also the Broncos, who would of thought, 7 wins in a row based on defence.

Come on ink!! You're better than blaming Sheens for Payne's poor form while with us!!

He lacked balls & gusto in Tigers colours!!!

My thoughts exactly Jazza…

After last years finish, the Raiders were my dark horse outside of us. I cant believe how poorly they are playing.

Likewise how well Brisbane are playing.

Best Buy is Trent Hodkinson!!!

The dogs will be able to build a team around him & Keating for years to come!!

Plus he he has proved that Noddy was a hot & cold pretender!!!!

Yeah Cowboys, Storm and Broncos have all been a bit of a surprise. Have to agree about the Raiders as well.

As for us, Matt Utai hands down.

Utai has been a good pick up, responsible for a lot of go forward in a depleted pack that has had trouble laying the platform for our halves.

I would say though that I think Aaron Woods is living up to my expectations so far. Already exudes maturity and that staggering thing is that he will only get better.

The kid has a huge future, hope he spends it all in the might black, gold & white.

I'm not convinced on Brisbane yet. I looked at their season thus far the other day and of their 7 wins, 4 were against teams that are last, 15th, 13th and somewhere else down the bottom, a team in all sorts of injury crisis (us), the roosters who are in the 8 through luck and the one team who IS playing well, the dogs.
I believe we will see them come back to earth when they start playing more top eight sides (well I hope anyway!)

Agreed Jezz, and they will probably start to struggle around Origin time, as well.

Only talking about the ball playing aspect of his game. The last few games he palyed for us, to me anyway ( I love ball players) it was sooo dramatic, such a change…too see him ball playing, it can only HAVE been discouraged, he is a natural at it..you cant teach it....mustve been frustrating for him.

As a team the Broncos have suprised me, for our club Matt Utai, he is pretty good, and getting better each match, and yes Corey Payne is going great for the Bulldogs.
