Who here actually supports Western Suburbs in the KOE NSW Cup?

Not sure what the best model is for the juniors. The objective should be a clear path to the Wests Tigers. What is not ideal is someone from Campbelltown (like Galvin) ending up in the Parra juniors.

From Wiki

Galvin supported the Parramatta Eels growing up, but played his junior rugby league initially for Eaglevale-St Andrews Magpies in the Western Suburbs junior district.
Galvin was later picked up by the Eels in his teens, and played a couple of seasons in Harold Matthews before he was cut loose.

"I wasn't really getting game time, and they kind of told (that there is) probably not going to be a spot here for ya in the long-term". Galvin would later join the Wests Tigers junior set up for a $5000 transfer fee. Galvin would then play for Western Suburbs. In 2022, he was part of the Western Suburbs team which won the Harold Matthews competition that season.

If he is wrong, Kindly correct him and us with what is indeed correct?

I seem to recall Tim Sheens pooling the players into the one team also.

In saying this, I would be into all juniors and lower graders rolling into a Wests Tigers branded NSW cup team
Still wating to be corrected - the Wests JUNIORS were never placed into the Balmain junior teams...

At the time under Sheens- we had two reserve grade teams and some fringe players on NRL contracts shifted between both!

As far as I understood what he stacked was the Ryde Eastwood tigers team in State cup . Basically all the squad members not in nrl .
He didn’t stack any junior sides .
And Toyota cup existed at u20s so of course that was stacked .
The wests team got hammered in state cup because of this .

I think it had more to do with it being closer to concord for training purposes than a wests vs Balmain decision

Yeah he wanted all NRL players not in first grade at any given weekend playing together rather than half playing against the other half at times, plus as you mentioned BRET did train with first grade so nothing was foreign if a reserve got called up to 1sts

It was probably smarter to have them closer to Concord but, as I recall, Sheens wanted all the fringe NRL players in one team so they'd be familiar with each other's playing styles and Ryde Eastwood was the team chosen.
He actually wanted to combine the sides and have a Wests Tigers reserve grade from memory. The Magpies refused so all players went to BRET.

Sea lioning sounds like one of those terms you just don’t don’t want to Google
I had to try and explain it to the Mrs last night.
Nothing like an old digger who only just learnt the term trying to explain it to someone who has never used socmed.
She was going what “Sea Linings”? What lines in the sea? No Mrs a Lion but a seal. “So someone is dressed as a Sea Lion?
It’s our word of the week, hey @Spartan117

The KOE reckon should be wests tigers junior teams below for necessity magpies and balmain tigers because of the large amount of players there are then only the best progress to wests tigers KOE.

There is no doubt that we should be Wests Tigers in NRL, NSW cup, flegg and women's tournaments. One team United. No divisive crap.

Matt's and Ball are local junior comps for local juniors. No problem with them retaining the name of the local area they represent, that's where the foundation clubs can and should exist, junior pathways

It’s not rocket science. 🤷‍♂️

Yea that’s what I assumed at the time as well .
Also one less game to watch for the 1st grade coaches, then also wondering about combinations etc. I reckon if the club had shown some leadership and backed Sheens we would have been collecting GF trophies not wood spoons.

How about letting the dust settle from the positive progress we have made at the NRL level of a club before trying to break it again? We are in a good space at the moment. Let's enjoy a couple of seasons before the next crusade. I'm tired of squabbling.
There is no squabbling. We are Wests Tigers. And should be in all top grades. There is no legitimate argument otherwise

Personally I think the reserve grade team should be Wests Tigers but I don't really care enough to get worked up about it. Two teams probably wasn't sustainable. I wouldn't say I support the Magpies but obviously I want to see them do well.
I support the reserve grade team of the Wests Tigers, regardless of what they are called.

However, prefer the Wests Tigers name down to Jersey Flegg as others have mentioned
