Who is the idiot

Brooks has found his confidence and we are reaping the benefits.
He seems to work really well with Liddle, I cant wait to see what amazing plays they can put on for us. Much as I love Brooks I don't want him for origin, I would rather he keep his mind focussed on Tigers for now, he is young he can play origin later.

He has always been the most likable of the ordinary 4 but now he is performing way better than all of them.

Yeah it's amazing isn't it how things can turn. If I'm honest I'd say he was the last one of those 4 I wanted to keep and I was really disappointed when he stayed and we lost the others, but now I couldn't be happier! Sometimes it just takes the right players around someone to bring out the best in them….oh and the right coach also.

First time he has played behind a winning pack and in a winning team. He is also better prepared physically and mentally. He is growing in confidence and it’s exciting. He played a really good game today.

Cleary has seen something very few people saw in Brooks

I think many saw Brooks potential but feared the lack of consistency

Thanks Luke for standing up and thanks IC for showing the faith

No thanks to you KS LOL

Brooks always had the talent but just needed to be paired with a good half. He has one now with Benji which makes me wonder a bit how Moses feels about Norman.

Sorry which good half was that

Benji was horrid today , bar the field goal

he looks alot more natural with experienced 5/8 with him.
with moses and teddy wanting alot of ball, and woods involvement way to often,he was premeditating his plays.
now that he gets more ball he can play into the game and pick his spots.

Brooks is playing well now and with a lot of confidence…that play on the last late in the game where he ran it on the last, into traffic and died with the ball in the corner giving Melb the ball there shows this, very clever, thinking ahead.

Are the death riders those that criticised his game in the past when it was very very poor?
Because I was one...you cant change history...but Im glad hes going well...the confidence in his running is terrific

X2
When he died with the ball in the corner…..That was what good halfbacks do.

against all odds, it could end up that we kept the right one of the '4 great'.
NSW 7 anybody ?

Let's not apply that pressure, please!!!!

I was happy that we kept brooksie…this form was always going to come....would love to see teddy at fullback now we have a forward pack dominating

I almost ignored this thread as I had no idea that it was about Brooks. Actually, I was going to start one myself called, 'Brooks taking ownership'.
Today, for the first time, Luke looked as though he wanted to take control of the team and it was very heartening to see. He ran, passed and kicked at the right moments and, most importantly, nearly all of his touches were of the highest quality. Additionally, when the team were under the pump or needed a spark he demanded the ball. His decision to not pass or kick but run the ball with two minutes to go was evidence of his dramatically increased confidence. To my mind, he was best on field and by some considerable distance.

Where are the death riders?

Smugness is ugly.

I don't see that comment as smug or ugly. For so along we have been listening to people lay the boot into Brooks, Lawrence and Kev. Why not call them out ? We had to read pages upon pages about how crap they are.

Yeh I have no idea why people criticise Brooks.

He got a lost a few times over the last two years but he had enough good games for me not to question he would come good. Ton of ability.

It's been a very long time coming, but it's now apparent that he just needed the right support. Cleary and to a lesser extent Benji provided the support for Brooks to be himself.

The funny thing is that we seemed to get the short straw out of the "big four", but guess who's shining? Brooks!

Good things come to thise who wait. And suffer.

Criticism of Brooks previously was valid just like praise is for him currently.
It was time and he needed to perform.
He has shown that he is moving toward the player we need him to be and thats great for us all.

I don't get these threads.
Good now doesn't mean bad in the past didn't happen

4 out 5 wins to start the season. I would have thought straight after that win most fans would just be happy.

Yeah but it’s the degree of criticism. Some of the stuff written about Brooks was way over the top. A bit like the criticism of Benji today. Sometimes we need to think before we type/text.
