Who is the threat???

I'll say Manly, Brisbane and Melbourne as well simply because all three made it to the final four last year, all three have the teams on paper to win it and all three have a lot to prove this year with Manly losing Des, Brisbane losing Locky and Melbourne losing their most experience forward in Blair.

All of them are a threat. Any team can beat us, any week, if we're not on our game. As far as a consistent threat in the overall comp goes, it has to be Melbourne, once again. Bellamy's ability to turn average first graders into really good ones that can play as a cohesive team unit, week in, week out, is unparalleled - (Bennett has always had more 'stars' to work with in his teams than Bellamy has). I mean look at the way guys like Woolnough, Quinn, Champion, Norrie, Proctor and Manu have aimed up each week and they also still have their great 'spine' intact. All that said, I reckon we are actually Melbourne's bogey team :stuck_out_tongue:

Others I think will go well are Manly, Brisbane, Canterbury (ow! that hurts to type that), Newcastle and Penrith are my smokey tip to improve big time.

Flip and the Broncos again :unamused:

So 99.9% of my post is agreeing with your sentiments about Melbourne being the big threat this season and this is all you can see! C'mon Happy, get on the Broncos bandwagon this year, you know you want to

Canberra should be the darkhorse this yr. If Dugan and Campese stay fit for the majority of the yr and their forwards harden up, they are a shoe-in for the 8\. From there who knows???

Also, the Broncos to do better then expected

I see their are 16 teams that are all in the hunt from round 1 and really their are maybe two teams I think cant win the comp, Penrirh and the raiders, the rest if they get some luck along the way can go all the way. On the other hand their will be at least a couple of the fancied teams that flop, it happens every year. Lets hope that our mob can live up to the hype–Iam a little worried ( pre season nerves)

Agree on the Panthers. I'd say there are only 2 teams who can't make the 8 and they are the Panthers and Roosters. I think there are more then 2 teams who can't win it. I'd throw Parra, the Roosters and Souths in there as well. Don't agree on the Raiders. I think they along with Brisbane will turn a few heads this season

My worries with the raiders is their coach! Alot of those juniors from that first NYC team should come of age this year, alot will depend on how Sam Williams goes in the 7.

The Raiders have been flogged mentally and physically all off season. They embarrassed themselves last year and let an entire city down. They will be right up there this year for mine, along with the rest of the usuals.

I'll say Storm, Cowboys, Knights and Raiders

I can't see Roosters, Broncos, Panthers or Parramatta winning the comp, but anyone can make the 8 with a bit luck with injuries and momentum imo

I hope the raiders do ok. I'd love to see a really different looking top 4 for once, say
Tigers
Raiders
Cowboys
Bulldogs
Sharks
Sea eagles
Rabbits
Storm

I'd like to see Souths and Knights there with us. Dogs will be very dangerous.

Gold Coast are another I would throw into the mix of teams that cannot win the comp, even with their buying for this season.

Flip I might join you on the bandwagon for one reason Supposedly if the Punters money keeps coming Brisbane or Newcastle will be favourites for 2012 If it means us NOT being favourites I may be able to swallow my pride and say "Lets Go Broncos" :crazy 😕 😱pen_mouth: :bash :brick: :unamused:

Won't be Melbourne, they will probably start strong but come the business end of the season will be dead man walking, a bit like 2011 but more pronounced.

i think souths and the cowboys the big improvers the dogs just let the tigers injury toll be very very small go tigers

Wow!

This comp is so even that, week to week, there's new threats everywhere.
Still, some teams are perennials:

Like the Sharks, terrible history. Like Gibbs but …. Unlikely more than most.
The rabbits. Hope springs eternal. But they start without a recognised 1/2\. Can't be pretty.
Manly. 2011 premiers. Now minus coach + 46% support staff. Can't possibly do it again.
Penrith. Those mountain men now with Gus at the helm. Can they do it? No! No! No! No! No!
Roosters. Mini's bridal party are good now but will their relationship last the season? Broken vows, or at least shattered squad.
Cowboys. Lui returns to his old nest. Pity, eggs will not hatch in September.
Eels. Stephen Kearney loves a jumble sale. Pick lots and let them find their own way. Not anytime soon.
Bulldogs. Ennis & Co. under Dezzie. Great expectations. Still haven't got the Dickens.......
Knights. Secured "the" coach. Secured the $$$. But money can't buy love. Not likely.
Titans. Prince seeks band of brothers. Oops!! Lost those years ago. No happy families here.
Storm. Climate change has a lot to answer for. I want Bellamy miked up. Love his serene game face. Not!
Dragons. Tinker. Tailor. Soldier. Spy. Always good to play a Red Army. Just give it up.
Broncos. Like Costa Concordia, all ship and no capt. Seen Alfie or Locky?? Stately but that's all.
Warriors. Great around April. Do a mean Haka Rap. But lost once semis beckon.
Raiders. aka Furner Incorporated. Like the green machine but it will rust like Gingerella.

So, on any day, anythin g can happen.
But only the Wests Tigers make it happen.
I love My Team !!!

Our Tigers traditionally don't do Favorites well, However when their confidence is up… look out

Our squad is more mature and of a higher grade than ever,

Weight of expectation is growing for 2012.

They're learning to deal with the weight of the "favourites" tag and the significant expectation that emanates from it though. I think we may see a better oiled machine this year in terms of ability to put teams to the sword, and not leak points when we have a good lead.
