Please don't get rid of Brooks for someone like Flannigan.
If we are going to get rid of him let spend big and get an equally or better marquee ½.

Everyone thinks they can get the best out of Brooks, but it won't happen here - unless we suddenly surround him with players with a winning mindset. Brooks whole career at our club has been embedded with excuses for losses and how it's impacted on his growth. He needs to go to a system where that doesn't gel and your individual performance is judged by what you offer the team.

The speed in which the Roosters got rid of him was most concerning. If they saw potential for growth with a young player they would have persisted but to cut him so quickly! Red flags everywhere with this kid when he can't hold a position at the Bulldogs either. Him and his dad together - Nathan Cleary he is not. The coach maybe, but not as a package deal the signs are there.

The Roosters signed him but I strongly suspect that was to attract his mate and probably had a lot to do with why he was moved on so quickly.

Brooks is here for another 2 years I think,he has been bashed for years and in fairness has had several coaches,roster changes and ordinary players around him...
The loss against the Titans is exactly what happens when you have a heap of youth in the team learning NRL...
Their defense was the best I seen it for a while and if they have learnt from that pressure the attack will come....small steps people small steps...
AD and Hastings back will help,in the mean time we have to hope these guys can finally show some discipline and control,the basic SAME MISTAKES every week will kill the momentum they try to build...

If they do decide to move Brooks on his salary would be handy to put into a new recruit. It really needs to go to a top level half (not too many on the market other than Munster and can’t see him coming here), a prospective gun fullback with lots up upside (Savage?) or a strike centre. Hastings, Douehi and Madden would have to do if you could replace Brooks for one of the above. Api strengthens our spine next year too and their is some junior talent coming through. Liked what I saw from Rua in his brief time in the trial game.

We have enough halves. Brooks should be tried at fullback or bench utility including playing hooker. If he doesn't suit those roles he plays reserves or we let him go but we shouldn't pay a cent.

Fullback should be our no 1 priority. We also need another edge backrower and our middle forwards roster sorted out. That doesn't mean we need to buy middle forwards although Yeo or Murray at lock forward would be great for us.

Madge will have to go then. He is going to have to do something right. We can't keep losing and thinking there will be no changes.

If we start winning things will change but the club won't retain the coach and not make the finals and not show any signs of improvement.

My personal opinion is though Madge is going to try things when he has more options. He doesn't have the options atm.
