Who should get spot number 30?

So iirc we have 29 spots filled. I think we need to start considering who to give that last spot to from our lower grades. Here are some options:

1. Kelma Tuilagi - Is on a development contract and could be upgraded to do a job for us.
2. Kiah Cooper - Has been on a train and trial. Is leading tryscorer in NSW cup by a mile. Provides depth at centre/winger which we are skint at.
3. Edene Gebbie - Hasn't started a game yet but I get the impression they are hoping he just sets fire to the place so they can upgrade him immediately. I personally would rather upgrade someone now as I feel like our reggies and Flegg are performing well enough for us to.
4. Alan Fitzgibbon - Fast, strong running winger in the JAC mold. Started off looking skittish but his confidence has grown with every game. Particularly like his carries out of our end. If he was on the other wing would probably have all the tries Cooper has, but probably has more to offer as a first grade winger than Cooper does (Cooper would be the better centre though).
5. Logen Dillon - Logen has set fire to Jersey Flegg and scores tries for fun. His production at Flegg aligns with what you want to see from a player who is miles above the level they're playing at. I'd like to see him play NSW cup and then personally, assuming that he kills that grade, this would be my choice for upgrade.

I'd be interested in hearing what others think?

Edit: So apparently after round 10 all of our NSW cup players will be eligible to play. So I guess that extends to Flegg players that played in NSW cup prior to round 10 or something?

We are at 28..so 2 spots to fill by August 1..

Outside back and Back Rower from outside are the Targets the problem is tho there is not much available to fill those as you would be looking at player 20-21 from a top squad or someone not happy at a bottom Club..

The other thing to remember due to covid development players or those on a train and trail contract can play NRL after round 10 this year without exemption so all the players mentioned will be able to play without being upgraded..as once you upgrade them that's a spot taken..

I think they will be looking to upgrade players like Simpkin Luciano Utoikamanu from this years Cap creating more space to have a crack at higher quality to bolster the squad in 2022..

Oh the train and trialers can all just play after round 10? Wow that's pretty awesome I didn't know that. I expect we'll see a lot of new faces after round 10.

I guess I would just be upgrading a couple of the Fleggers then if we can't sign anyone. Maybe Dillon and Lui or Ogden?

As I understand it the development players are Reece Hoffman, Kelma Tuilagi and William Kei. Is anyone else on a dev contract?

And Round 10 is only three weeks away. It makes sense not to upgrade those players but to look outside to recruit for the last two spots.

Yeah definitely I didn't realise that at all. So who are all our train and trialers and our development players?

Alan Fitzgibbon
ZDC
Kiah Cooper
Kelma Tuilagi
William Kei
Reece Hoffman
Edene Gebbie
Edenn Rogers-Smith

Who else?

I guess the 1st choices are Horrie Jr and Naden

But they won't turn around this disaster ..back rower and Hastings would help ....but as I said last week ....no way Lam will release Hastings ...they have their own injury issues

Oh wow literally all of them? That's so great. I've really not enjoyed there being such restrictions on promoting from reserve grade.

Is there a limit on the amount of games they can play? How does it work if we want to promote directly from Flegg/Ball to first grade?

Sounds very fair and will be a real help to our club.

Our pack is very badly balanced...we are ridiculously 'prop heavy'.

So, it should be Tuilagi IMO. He has the size, the foundation (Storm) and is a legit 11.

But if Madge thought any could help turn the team around we have 2 spots available on the main roster already

Cini is already in our top 30. Not development, straight up top 30.
