WHO WILL BE THE WESTS TIGERS MASTERCHEF?

The kitchen is clean, the Masterchef Julie Goodwin is on her way, and the players are keen to find out who is the best chef between them at tonight’s Wests Tigers Women In League event at Concord Oval.

The partners of Robbie Farah. Keith Galloway, Todd Payten, Beau Ryan, Gareth Ellis, Mark Flanagan, Bryce Gibbs, Lote Tuqiri and Chris Heighington to name just a few will be treated to a three course dinner by their men as part of the club's Women In League celebrations.

With the assistance of MasterChef Series One winner and passionate Wests Tigers fan Julie Goodwin, the players will attempt to cook the following 3-course meal.

Entrée – twice-baked cheese soufflé
Main meal – Salmon fillet with rich lemon sauce
Dessert – Ginger syrup sponge, almond praline, vanilla ice cream.

The early favourites to take out the Wests Tigers Masterchef title are renowned cooks Todd Payten and Robbie Farah.

This private dinner is the club's and the players' tribute to the partners for their support throughout the NRL season. This event is not open to Wests Tigers members and supporters.
 
I've read before that Robbie loves to cook and fancies himself in the kitchen, he'll have to be favorite.
 
Wouldn't it be better to hold this type of thing on Saturday night after our duties for this week are done?

But its at night with their families so not much is different than usual i assume, except the boys are getting even more after hours bonding and team lifting. if anything its only going to improve morale and make recovery and training more enjoyable for the remainder of the week.
 
Shi*. I hope they don't end up with bandaged fingers, or even worse, on crutches.
Hope they learn to cook hot dogs and pies, and chips that aren't soggy.
 
PLENTY OF GOOD FOOD AT WOMEN IN LEAGUE DINNER

There was plenty of laughter, some serious cooking, and plenty of satisfied diners at the Wests Tigers Women In League dinner at Concord Oval on Tuesday night.

With this weekend’s NRL round being a Women in League theme, Wests Tigers arranged a special dinner for the players’ partners and wives to thank them for their support throughout the season.

The girls enjoyed a three-course dinner cooked by their respective partners under the guidance of passionate Wests Tigers fan and Masterchef winner Julie Goodwin.

Robbie Farah. Keith Galloway, Todd Payten, Chris Lawrence, Beau Ryan, Gareth Ellis, Mark Flanagan, Bryce Gibbs and Lote Tuqiri were split into groups with each group looking after a separate course of the meal.

As the girls sat back enjoying drinks and wondering how dinner would turn out, the players were hard at it making an entree of twice-baked cheese soufflé, a main meal of salmon fillet with rich lemon sauce, and dessert comprising of ginger syrup sponge, almond praline and vanilla ice cream.

Farah, Payten, Flanagan and Lawrence more than showed their cooking skills while plenty of laughs were provided by funny men Ryan and Gibbs. Tuqiri, Ellis, and Galloway helped out to the best of their ability.

As for the dinner itself, the girls were pleasantly surprised by how good each meal tasted.

Bec Tuqiri couldn’t help herself though when she decided it was time to play a trick on Lote.

After tearing up a piece of old brown carpet, Rebecca and her partners in crime thought it would be funny to get a texta and paint the piece of string black.

When Lote walked in to ask how the entree was, Bec lifted up the black piece of string, now looking very much like a dreadlock, from her bowl and asked her man if he wore a hairpiece whilst cooking.

“It’s a stitch up,’’ Lote said, much to the laughter of Bec and her girls.

“Yeah, good one.”

At least Bec got to enjoy the entree, the partners of Gibbs and Galloway were handed a plate comprising a piece of fruit, an onion, and some lettuce.

“Bryce has outdone himself this time. This is better than what I normally get at home,’’ laughed Vanessa.

“His idea of cooking is take-away.”

There were many more laughs. Ever the prankster, Gibbs just couldn’t resist when he spotted the fire extinguisher in the kitchen.

With Ryan joking a soufflé was on fire, in raced Gibbs and unfortunately for The Footy Show funny man, he copped the full brunt of the spray Gibbs unleased.

“It’s cold man, bloody cold. Stop it,’’ Ryan yelled, as he tried to escape his team-mate.

Following dinner, Farah thanked Julie for her time and efforts in “making better cooks” out of the players before presenting her with her very own Wests Tigers jersey.

When pressed her was the Wests Tigers Masterchef, Julie just smiled.

"They were all good, they all tried hard. I had plenty of fun,'' she quipped.

And so too did everyone else!
 
Just saw it on 10 Sports Tonight. Looks like the boys enjoyed themselves. I think Bryce got some payback from Beau with the fire extinguisher.
