Who will save NRL post Covid

I think there are a lot of unanswered questions and possibilities. I read an interesting article from a New Zealand Rugby site, 'Rugbypass'. It quoted a prominent sports writer in NZ, by the name of Dylan Cleaver, who questioned whether this is now the time for both codes of rugby to explore the possibility of merging. He said that Rugby Australia and New Zealand Rugby, as well as Rugby in England faced massive losses - no surprise there. He suggested union and league may need each other to survive the aftermath of coronavirus. To quote him, “For financial reasons alone, having all the talent playing a single code makes perfect sense.” I'm a league man, but played both codes growing up and enjoyed both. I think all the people who take polar, almost hate positions, from either code, may be forced to rethink the possibility of a merger. I think it could possibly be done and might be needed, but with a lot of stumbling blocks along the way. People's ideas here?

As long as it is a combination of both games, where the best bits of both are retained, I feel it's a suggestion with potential.
We've been winging about RL scrums and what a joke they are, and how do we replace them with something better....well we now have the opportunity to adopt a RU type scrum.
Get rid of the boring line outs though.
