Who would be your Top 3 Realistic candidates to coach us

I can't believe i'm gonna say this, oh boy…...ahem BRIAN SMITH!!!

Now now before i get shot down hear me out. Whats this place need??? a cleanout, and name one coach who is better at cleanouts then Smithy? I wouldn't keep him any more then 3 yrs cos thats when the rot sets in with Smithy. But this place needs a cleanout and Smithy can give this place what it needs in the short-term

Makes sense. He isn't afraid to put a few noses out of joint

it's not about cleaning out or rebuildiing, it's about instilling some consistency, passion, aggression and attitude in the team and making them play to their potential CONSISTENTLY.

And the man/men currently there can't do it. Proven.

Oh man the guy is ruthless. How long was Ronnie Palmer a trainer at the Roosters? a lifetime. Smithy gets there and gives him the arse straight away. And who remembers the way he totally screwed over Kirk Reynoldson at the Knights? Reynoldson had a stipulation in his contract where if he had played 10 or 15 games (can't remember the exact number) in that season he'd get a new 2 yr contract, and Smithy deliberately refused to pick him when he was 1 or 2 games short of the quota so he wouldn't get his new contract. The guy is heartless

Folkes for sure!

Bellamy wouldn't happen in a million years plus if he was to consider ANY move in 2014, we'd be up against a very cash strapped Warriors side.

Warriors do need a new coach. They're most welcome to buy out Sheens' contract.
Obviously that means Benji would follow over the 'dutch' - in the past that would be my worse nightmare but now I couldn't care less.

Other notable prospects:

2) Anderson - sure. Might work.
3) Warren Ryan - come full circle since he was once coach of both Wests & Balmain (ok that one was just a little nostalgic)

I think Jason Taylor would make a great coach for us. I don't think he would have a problem making the tough calls. He seems to have a good football brain and I think the players would respect him. I know reading a few of Robbies tweets that he seems to have a lot of time for him.

Nathan Brown

Done his apprenticeship.

If we go down the South Sydney avenue, then I would give Kevvie Walters or Mick Potter a go.

Folkes or Anderson are probably both fairly realistic options, prefer Folkes though since he's been here.

The original post mentioned an abundance of coaches to consisder, yet we have come up with 4 or 5 only. Is that an abundance? Most have been tried before elsewhere anyway. I'd get that NZ dude…Brian Mclellan? Someone from left-field like him. Or Daniel Anderson, of the other lot mentioned. I think the Folkes suggestion is completely in the wrong direction, given that he has connections with the club already. I would prefer a completely new coach with new support staff? Where did we get that old guy from that sits next to Tim Sheens and runs out the sponge??Man....how uninspiring is that???? And, while I'm at it, get Tim off the sdieline and back up into the coaches box where he can get a better view of the action. Which other coach sits on the sideline these days?

JT went well at parra and souths. Coach in waiting. Whoever signs him will solve a huge part of the jig saw. Others I'd like to see are Anderson, Folkes or Hasler.

I feel some of you think the Head Coach actualy does the coaching… The good Head Coaches do very litte coaching and are mainly Managers of the Operation/Structure.

I dont think Folkes is a suitable option... He should only be considered as an Assistant Coach due to his lack of people management skills. Its pretty obvious since he left our Defence is pathetic and I'm of the opinion the first coach punted should be Georgalis.

Daniel Anderson appears to be a good Coach, but he has never been able to manage his boards or external influences at the clubs he has been at. With this being the case, he will be on a flogging to none at the Wests Tigers and should be ruled out. Would be a great Assistant Coach, but I dont think this is his desire.

I like what I see in Mick Potter... He appears to be a guy who has full control and has a wealth of knowledge of the game of Rugby League. He is the kind of mentor who would be able to bring new ideas to the club, along with having the ability to manage some of the egos we have in the playing group and off it.

I'd like to see the following structure implemented at the Wests Tigers:

Head Coach - Mick Potter
Assit Coach - Michael Hagan (Game Plans & Offence)
Assit Coach - Steve Folkes (Fitness/Rehab/Defence)
Head Trainer - Todd Payten

Lets do something completely different I say

Head coach Jim Dymock

Technical coach Michael Hagan (in my opinion arguably the best in the NRL )

Defensive coach Folkes (if he will come back)

Coaching Director Either Daniel Anderson or Graham Murray

I'd run with those guys.
