Why was there all these posts on the forum talking up Taqele Niavaro and there was even an article in the DT. He was shocking, could not catch ball definitely should not be re-signed.

Because he is good. He killed it all last year and you shouldn't judge him yet on 10 minutes of a trial game.

This is the problem. He will be remembered for last night but he is very good. He wasn't used properly. Benji and Robbie are lame.

Hard to judge a game like that - tough conditions but Tigers attack seemed pretty lifeless.. lots of one out stuff and very few deceptive plays - didn't give me a lot of confidence about putting points on the board. Would hate to rely on our defense every week. But benefit of the doubt - just a trial and bad conditions.

Well he isn't a centre and Benji or Robbie only threw about two passes all night that hit players on the chest.

But yeah lets dump him now

As I said in another thread , you can't write the bloke off on one performance

He has so much of the attributes that this teams lacks for 2013 and we should continue to work on his handling

Two of the balls were a mile behind him , thats a timing issue and Marshall and Farah are to blame for that

You can train blokes to get better ball control

You can't train blokes to be 117kg and one of the quickest blokes in the side If you look at the chase when the Roosters scored he had to turn and chase and still matched it with Jennings , no mean feat for a bloke at 117kg

Be patient ,if we can get this bloke to NRL standard he is going to be a big bonus in the future

He looked as rough as guts to me, and I wouldn't just be blaming the service he got. But he did some good also. That's how it normally goes for young fellas getting a first crack. I can remember some shockers from players like Fults and Tuiaki early on. Hopefully he'll learn and be better next time.

Every year they talk up someone who you know is going to fail. Last year it was Grant..this year its this bloke. Shouldn't be anywhere near 1st grade.

Did you not watch the first game? He played with speed and brute strength.. It seems as though people forget that he had already played a full game in which he was highly involved and in terrible conditions.. He then had to wait an hour in the cold and wet before getting another run. Add to that the quality of ball he was given… There's no way you can write him off after last night...

same reason you've been talking up Rory Brien? for the last few days…
and who ever else you seem to try and hype up each week.

"we should sign ____ they're amazing"
"we should add (insert inexperienced, untested, out of position player here) to the starting side!"
"koro @ fullback ! lawrence @ fullback ! center @ lock, second row @ prop"

Jets just tweeted:

Wests Tigers have a real personality player on their hands in winger Taqele Naiyaravoro - this fellow is a colossus with a turn of speed.

bad games happen. if we got rid of every player who had one bad game we wouldn't have been fielding a side halfway through last year.

Ask yourself….you had him in your team several times.

Good point Happy.

People need to realise that this side will take time to gel and evolve from 10 years of Sheen's crazy coaching. If you are expecting miracles over night….you are in for a long season. Last year destroyed my confidence in this side. Personally I am content this year to sit back and watch the development of some young guns who will have lengthy careers in first grade such as Woods, Koro, Teddy, Miller, Buchanan, etc....I am not expecting instant success and will see how we are going in 4 months time. I will only get loud if the effort is not present, especially if we give up like we did many times last year.

This is a silly thread.

:roll

usually i get tired of your nitpicking, but I have to concede, this is a beauty of a nitpick right here.

I hope we persist with him because we need the size. A few dropped balls but everybody's had a shocker in the past, it just looks worse because it was his first real exposure to widespread criticism through the TV critics amongst us.

On the plus side, Koroibete played well and his runs from dummy half were very strong.

Hopefully Big T is catching up to Koro in the next few months.

he certainly has the physical attributes, but is clearly a work in progress with some way to go before playing NRL.
As happy said, you cant teach someone to be 120kgs and run like the wind, worse perservering with
