A quick comparison with some membership packages already released from other clubs.

**Tigers:**

Gold seating (all 12 home games): $450
Silver seating (all 12 home games): $330
Bronze General admission (all 12 home games): $245
"Jungle" General admission (all 12 home games): $300

**Panthers:**

Gold seating (all 12 home games): $350
Silver seating (all 12 home games): $250
Bronze general admission (all 12 home games): $150

**Roosters:**

Gold seating (all 12 home games): $350
Silver seating (all 12 home games): $275
Bronze general admission (all 12 home games): $99

They also have Chookpen covered ($270) and Chookpen uncovered ($235).

**Manly:**

Gold seating (10 home games): $420.00
Silver seating (10 home games): $220
Premium general admission seating (10 home games): $225
General admission (hill): $180

Most other Sydney clubs like the Dogs, Eels etc. have not released their 2013 pricing yet.

Apart from the Manly's gold season ticket, every other ticket from the above clubs is comparatively cheaper than ours.

Why does the club charge so much? :wtf

To pay Sheens out…... I would say the set up costs game days vary which ground they play at. My argument playing at the smaller venues is supply and demand and obviously there is demand for limited seats . My view play all but 2 games at SFS and one at each traditional ground and that would be a stretch for me as I would have all games out of the SFS .This equals lower prices and more memberships with decent seating .

WT play at a $$ loss when they play at LO (small corporate box options) and get paid to play at SFS. Campbelltown costs $25k for a game day but has better corporate facilities and support from nearby leagues club.

WT membership costs are prob due to above.

Answer is easy..we can command a premium price for West Tigers membership as we are such a stable, consistently performing club full mates who will die for each other on and off the field. We have a very knowledgable Coach who has been with us for 10 years and says he feels 10 years young. Our coach & CEO work so well together they even agree on the placement of gym equipment..that's stability & cooperation at the highest level. Our CEO is also very good at keeping his word and never ever forgets to complete contracts…all he has to say is "she'll be right mate" and any player or coach will feel instantly secure.

Yeah right

Could I suggest because we continue to pay that much

No different from any other purchase , if we stop paying it will reduce

If you look at this from a different angle, having the question of "Why are other clubs membership so cheap" you will find your answer…

Our average home crowd is considerable high than those listed, so if those listed clubs want to increase there numbers, they need to be cheaper.

Our price is pretty good this year. $20 per game for GA is pretty reasonable!

The answer is simple…..supply and demand.

Something is always worth what someone is prepared to pay.

GA may be reasonable but $450 for gold seating is ridiculous.

It is simply a supply and demand issue as mentioned above. There is only so much Gold seating available at Leichhardt and Campbelltown, hence why it's more expensive.

I'm a member so didn't have to pay but a couple of my mates came and paid $30 each. I don't know where you got $20 from?

How do our prices compare to some of the more popular clubs like Broncos, Dogs & Rabbits? Also does anyone know if the actual clubs make the money or a percentage from the food & drink sold at the games or these companies pay the stadium a certain amount of money for the right to sell it at the ground? If it is the clubs that make the money or a percentage from the food & drink (i have a feeling that they don't) wouldn't it be better to sell admission to the game cheaper so that more people will go & therefore the more people that attend, the more food & drink that will be sold. The money that you would lose in selling admission cheaper, you would make up for in selling more food & drink sold.

When the pricing came out I contacted the club about the price increase.

I was told that it is the beginning of an across the board price increase for our memberships (gold this year, followed by silver {and maybe others} next and so on). This was being done to bring us in line with other clubs packages as we have been charging well below the average rate for memberships for several years.

I then looked up the prices and information for other clubs memberships and found the above posted information (minus the Roosters). I also checked out the Broncos and Titans.

From this I found that in comparison to Manly we are basically on par now (especially seen they only get 10 home games instead of our 12).

Though the panthers packages are cheaper, the amount of seats offered in each section is greater, for example their gold covers both upper sections of the two grandstands (from end to end) compare that to Campbelltown and Leichhardt where only one stand has gold seating.

But in comparison to the Broncos and Titans we are still behind, their upper end (gold) packages are almost $100 more expensive than ours.

So even though it is a big increase it kind of makes sense.

Bronze Membership is a GA ticket, so $245 by 12 games is $20, plus you get a Members Kit… Heaps better value being a Member than simply turning up on Game day!

I'd love to say to Farah "become a Tiger for life" and i will get season tickets for my whole family , even if i live on the Gold Coast , i will still do it.
So Farah you do your bit and i will do mine, call me like you did in 2004 to renew my membership…..

The price goes up by around $70 for the Gold, and yet we don't even get a cap this year. The members "pack" is literally a sticker, a lanyard for the membership and a "hand pocket scarf". I'm pretty disappointed with that.

Economics 101\. Simple supply and demand. Leichhardt and Campbelltown only have small capacities, especially premium seating in the stands. The Dogs and Souths have 80,000 seats to sell at ANZ, we only have 20,000\. Low supply = high price.
