Why do you love Leichhardt Oval?

KPP fresh take on LO

“Then there’s his third inspiration: the fans. A Crystal Palace supporter, Pearce-Paul was full of praise for the Leichhardt Oval crowd following the Cowboys’ win, comparing the atmosphere at the inner-west venue to some of the more raucous Premier League stadiums.

“It reminds me of being at a soccer game in England, crowds up and chanting, beers flying everywhere,” he says.

“And that’s exactly what you want from a crowd that’s backing you.

“You want that bit of crazy, knowing that they’ve got your back no matter what.”

Started watching the Tigers at LO when I was 10, just fell in love with the place, so many good memories but the standouts were Ellery Hanley's games there and our big win over Brisbane when Wally was playing for them in a Panasonic Cup final.

Sadly, living at Caves for the last 30 years haven't been back since, too easy to sit in the best seat in the house right in front of a good tele.

Played there when it was a proper oval, back in the 60s/70s. Been to “ a thousand games there” rain, hail and shine. It’s just footy home as far as I’m concerned , now I live in Melbourne I really miss a day at the footy there.

I love Leichhardt Oval because of the Glen Morrison Toilet Block. I don't know why it is called this besides being named after a former player, but it adds to the mystique of the ground. How good is a long line to a smelly urinal? One of the great things about the NRL IMO.

The Morrison Toilet block has been renamed to the HBG font of knowledge in homage to our masters(An obvious joke to someone who is slow on the uptake)
