Why does everyone praise our defence?

We have the 6th worst defence in the comp….its terrible, why do you all see it as great?

I don't think anyone is under any illusions, we all know defence isn't where it should be but there is definitely improvements over previous years.

Because they are five worse teams than us in defence … Therefore our defence is great (not) !

against the souths, i heard rabs mention that we have let in the least tries through the middle than any other team. that's the biggest improvement that i can think of. but this means, that we are always short on numbers on the outside which has led to people like noffa and lawrence becoming the scapegoat for "bad decisions"

overall, the attitude and the one on one defense has been 100% better than previous year but the structure of defense esp in the latter stages with the forwards becoming tired has been very poor- whether it's due to fatigue or the overall strcuture

Because in the main our defence has been quite good

When our best 17 is on the paddock teams struggle to put big numbers on us

When teams have put big numbers on us it has been like 3 tries in 5-10 minutes for the other 70 - 75 it is strong

Yep, there is or was earlier a distinct change in attitude in our D
The goal line scrambling had improved too.

Ruck defence is still very poor with too many players not being put on the deck and offloads allowed…we'd have to be one of the worst in this regards (not putting players on their back)

not too sure about that. when blair, woods and farah are in the tackle- we always manage to put them onto their backs. people like bodene, taupau etc. will learn from experience as well.

keith keeps disappointing me in this regard. he doesn't run with much venom but when he tackles, he pretty much bear hugs them and makes it as comfortable for the attacker as possible.

we still miss a lot of tackles, but we're not letting them offload or get quick PTB too much IMO.

Was said b4 but with our top 17 we defend great . But we r not ready yet to compete at the top level every week and cop injuries We r building a squad Lets Agree we r a lot better then the last couple of yrs. potter is building a squad

completely agree with both. ruck has been poor, scrambling defence good though. Need a bit more discipline around there and if can get our best 17 on the field we can definitely challenge any team, whether its a wrestle or a score-fest.

Our defence was great in a handful of games only this year(manly, souths). ordinary the other games.

Against the bunnies they held us off for a few sets, they hit us and we fell like a deck of cards ..

Who said we praise our Defence ?
Its ok at the best, Kidwell has a lot more work to do.

Compared to last year, it's "great". I hated seeing teams get through the middle of us, last year. That's not happening this year. We still need to work hard on the fringes and with our young backs. But so much better than last year.

In the off season I hope Brooks does plenty of tackling practice.
