Why don’t our forwards go forward?

You just have to watch both teams first sets to start the game. Manly rolled up to inside our 40m line and we didn't even make it out of our 40m. That poor start resulted in us barely touching the ball for 20 minutes.

They don't go forward as we have way too many of the same type. I have said for ages that you can have a Huth...you can have an ET...you can have a Syefarth...you can have a Twal...you can even have a a Chee Kam...

But you sure as hell can't have them all. That is way, way too many light weights / guys who do not bend the line. Guys who never wind up and run hard.

They are all crap and wouldn’t make the bench in most top 8 sides ...
Powder puffs

but....never mind..

Starts with brooks though...he’s the conductor or so he keeps telling us ..”it’s my team “

A team with a pack of white marshmellows who wouldn't make the bench of a top team..

These blokes have played footy all their lives mostly don't think conducting is the issue...

When we get into the opposition 20 Brooks stinks it up anyway

Maybe that’s why the pack has given up

Can’t even put up a toro or throw a spiral pass

He’s ?

We had 4 that right 4 tackles in the Pamfers 20 in 80 mins...

English please school teacher

Tackles in opposition 20 Wests Tigers 4
Pamfers 36

https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/match-centre/NRL20201606/stats

Tackles in the 30 ?

Brooks is done mate
The tribe has spoken ....let it/him go

Already said it fine numerous times

Was also 4..with 0 in the 2nd half..

clutching with stats ....

Isn't this about the forwards going forward..

They didn't..

but like usual it's layed on Brooks..

There’s plenty of teams worse than us where their halfback has more than 1 try assist. Foran has 10 in 11 games for bulldogs and our forwards rolled theirs.

Foran is miles ahead of brooks.

Apparently if you don’t have a good pack In front of you, you can escape all blame. Foran playing behind a worse team is literally 10 times better than brooks. Even Lachlan Lewis has more try assists and he’s garbage

You had me at Lachlan

Lachlan Lewis would have made more of a contribution to our team this year than Brooks. And I think Lewis is one of the worst halves in the game.

Looks like he plays in slow motion

Just like his Uncle did.
How did he do that?

ok

He’s ?

But he has a lot of potential apparently. He's been in first grade longer than WW2 lasted.

He may have been in first grade longer than WW2 but he hasn't caused anywhere near the devastation.

I'm becoming a fan of McIntyre.

Yeah he's been a real surprise. Defensively very solid and more often than not finds his front quickly and gets a quick play the ball. The momentum of the game changed somewhat when he and Taylor came on, our bench was clearly superior to Manly's.

That first 25 minutes against Souths was embarrassing. What the heck is going on with our starting forwards? It was the exact same in the previous game against Manly. It's like our middle-third doesn't even exist at the start of games. We're not really missing tackles, but our defenders are being dragged miles.

Until McIntyre and Eisenhuth came on, we were leaking like a sieve. Simply not good enough from Aloiai and Mikaele.

We need to put Twal back in the front row and try McIntyre at 13 . His line speed and desire to whack would give us bit more oomph at the start of games . I get Madge wanting more go forward, with 3 front towers at 10 ,8 and 13 , but that’s great , if the other team averages 65 metres a set and your backs are carting it out of our own end most sets .

That’s what happens when you stand and wait for them. They got it later in the game but it took a while for the penny to drop.

We are getting smashed constantly in the forwards. Hopefully some good signings 👍👍👌🤘🤘🤘💙

I was having a closer look during that game and noticed so many times our 2nd man in simply isn't in an effective position to help complete the tackle. The first defensive hit is normally ineffective from either a weak, tired or "uncommitted" defender, the 2nd man in either half tackles our own player, has to re-adjust or a 3rd has to come in and hit the legs which gives the attack more post contact metres. Our defense just looks disjointed and like I've said before, it's because we hang back and wait in defense. We need to be dominate and up in their faces, this will allow us to have some control in how the tackle is completed and slow the attack down. We just seem so scrambled and weak in defense.

The problem is, we've already tried that approach and got absolutely hammered!

First 20 mins we again put ourselves under pressure... errors had us working off our line consistently, and fresh bodies at the start of the game pinned us down there. Hard to blame the forwards for struggling in that situation. If we were more competent, the possession in the opening 20 wouldnt have been so dismal, and the stats would have been better. Never got into the grind.

I think In past games referees have pinged us so many times for offside play that we’ve become gun shy.
But you watch top sides getting away with murder in that department week after week.

The Warriors game , they had no 10 metre rule lol there was literally a whole set where thier left edge never got back on side and the ref had no idea . His touchy must have been picking daisies all game

We couldn’t get into to grind cause our forwards were getting smashed and missing tackles ..
That’s why we found ourselves working off the line
