Wildcard Weekend proposed by NRL

Cochise - I can see your point, but taking it back to 12 teams will make it a far better product which is more sellable. I mean who would watch a game between the Titans and Newcastle or Warriors V Canberra. That is not a product that TV stations will be fighting over. Diluting the player pool even further will make even duller games.

Ok, I can see you are taking the piss, nice attempt though.

A ridiculous idea being floated by a group of imposters. If brains were dynamite Greenberg and company couldnt blow the wax out their ears.

So, Greenberg is thinking, "I'll say anything controversial and stupid to help the sex tapes blow over." If another comes out, he'll be talking 5 point tries.

I think I am the only one in here who likes the idea. I can see it keeping fans interested for longer. My reservation would be that the bar is lowered. I can see WT coming 8th and then being beaten by the 10th place team. Or worse, as others have said, 11th the new 9th. What am I talking about, top four for WT and then GF victory. Always the optimist.

If what Buzz was saying last night is true and the game can raise more revenue with TV rights and that money filters through to junior and country rugby league clubs I'm all for it

And it won't do us any harm every season …...will it .... we usually need as much help as possible

Imagine all the continued lack of talent our club will attract knowing that they don’t have to put in but can still make the semis each year !

You could also have the bottom 4 play off for the spoon. Maybe they should be looking at getting all clubs on the same level playing field if they want to generate some interest in the game. The NRL are all about the media dollar…

But imagine the money we will save buying plodders we can bag to the bejesus and still make the wildcards playoffs

The perfect scenario for all Forum members
