Will Cherrington be happy to wait?

Farah is an 80 min player. Cherrington might be good, but you don't just play him to appease him, which JT won't. Its the nature of the beast, you can't keep them all. Just ask the Panthers. they're gonna be forced to lose a few soon.

I agree Farah is an 80 minute player, but as he ages, a break in games will keep him sharper IMO, I think giving him a bit of a break in the origin will see him fresher back end. I think we will end up better off over the season by doing this.

There are logical arguments for keeping Farah playing 80 all year and next as well.

You don't need to bench Farah , play him at lock

I agree Hap,if people remember Farah played half at one time,so putting him to lock will be easier for him and Mania gets some real footy time…..

I also don't get the Robbie will have to suck it up stance as he gets older it's obvious the speed of the game will catch up with him and he will no longer be an 80 min player

This is pretty funny because you are agreeing with the comment that Robbie will have to suck it up. He won't have a choice.

I think he means that he hasnt stopped being an 80 min player yet. . Imo to give up a bench spot would be a mistake , especially if its just for 20 Mins.

Also, what would sitting on the bench each week and getting 20 mins per game, do for his fitness, when and if JT. wants to use him during Origin for longer periods.
Whats wrong in having him play full games in Nsw cup each week first ,to see how he goes against Men , and make any decisions after that?
I dont have a problem with him coming up at some stage , but I wouldnt like to see us starting off with an unproven young guy and cutting out one of our forward rotation.
Which forward do we rule out?
I may be overcautious , but I can remember a couple of seasons ago seeing heaps of praise for another unproven Hooker (Luani,) and quite a bit of pushing for him to get a run in first grade.

Now (with after sight) there'd be very little support for him at all
I'm not comparing the two , except to say that there's a big jump to NSW cup , and a large gulf to FG.

It will be an interesting test for Taylor in terms of how he manages Cherrington and Farah particularly during the Origin period and perhaps post origin when Farah tends to go off the boil a bit and could do with a break each half however this then affects our bench.

Yeah i agree cunno , I'm just hoping we have quite a few wins on the board when the Origin Season kicks in .
I would hate for Cherrington to be making his debut for our Club and feeling the weight on his shoulders from the media that we haven't won a game since such and such .

He needs to feel that he is going to be supported regardless if he has brilliant debut or chokes under the pressures of 1st Grade.

So, let me get this right.
We have Farah, a current Australian and SOO player, who is also captain of the club.
We also have Cherrington, a very talented but unproven (amongst men) young hooker, who has not played even one game of NRL….
and some of you want us to dump Farah on speculation? :crazy

Some people don't really think things through ck :nerd:

Manaia is a very skillful young hooker. ( Emphasis on young ) as others have mentioned , he needs time playing NSW cup. Getting used to playing with some bigger and stronger men and gaining valuable experience along the way. From the looks of him, hopefully it won't be long before we see him playing in first grade.
