Will the Club really be in Control ????

I agree that brooks season was a borderline pass. It's not easy for halves behind a pack that gets dominated most weeks. I agree with geo we need to keep developing the forwards and this will help brooks game.

The trend is to only have one star in the halves. Cronk, Thurston, dce. Essentially if both our halves want marquee money it will be hard to keep both. Best thing for us would be if brooks continues to struggle and we sign him long-term in 2018 on reasonable money. I'm very confident he is going to be a star player, just taking a little more time to work out what is required.

Thing in our favour is that brooks has been a Tigers fan since a kid and we will only need to out a reasonable offer on the table. Plus he must realise he got paid overs the last few years and should feel a sense of loyalty….at least I would, not sure about the new generation.

Defence aside the whole team had a problem with that, Brooks didn't have a horrible season he was just a bit player in some games. I like brooks and believe he has skill but how long do you wait for him to come into his own? It has to be this year and I think it will be cause he is looking for his next payday!

Just concerned about this cause both brooks and Moses are coming off contract and if the club doesn't deal with it soon then we risk both players over playing their hand in games in an attempt to show their worth and tripping over one another to do so?

The pack they play behind has a significant impact, put our halfs behind say a Bulldogs or Raiders pack and they will slay the opposition.

I don't think Clubs can't fit 4 big signings at the moment so they go for a FB, 1 half and a hooker.

Im not so sure Luke needs to have a big year next year… Let him grow and we will get 300 games out of this kid doing domestic halves duties.

Aiden Sezer is probably only really have his first dominant season at Canberra and he is 25.

Not everyone can be Darren Lockyer or Andrew Johns

I hear you. Sezer wasn't preferred by the Titans (they wanted DCE), at the raiders he is playing well cause of the pack driving the team. DCE was no where this year and sezer is playing the finals. It's the pack that drives the team, they have to be big or the have to be mobile. We were mobile in 05 and I think we were the last to do it with a smaller pack.

I agree not everyone is like them and I still believe it was a huge weight to put on brooks shoulders comparing him to an immortal!

Also I want the trinity (teddy brooks and Moses) to stay together, but if I had to choose between the three as to who should go, based on last season it would be brooks?

I must be the only one on this forum that thinks brooks had an alright season. Sure he is no Andrew Johns by now, but that was an unfair comparison anyway. Yes he had plenty of errors, yes he never took over in big games like moses but he still had a good season. Tied 2nd with 3 40/20 along with 19 Line bread assist (tied 4th with Cooper Cronk). For all the people who whinge about him not being worth it, who can replace him and perform better than he is playing now (that we can afford realistically) i don't rate littlejohn as much as others do.

I agree with you. I think Brooks is now a really good option at 7\. He isn't though a great player so we need to pay him the right amount.

He's gone alright for a young bloke but the reality is that we are overpaying him.

Luke's got a pretty good kicking game but his biggest asset is his speed and he needs to learn how to use it more.
Go to the line with more purpose and
- play just before the line more often
- develop the passing game to hit the right player
- learn to play what's in front of him not just pass and pray - or run when there is no gap to aim for.

Playing at speed is the hardest thing for defensive lines to cope with - look at what Moses was doing over the last few rounds, and what Milford does with the ball in hand. Brooks has that speed but whether he has the talent to properly exploit it is yet to be seen.
