Will The Grub be playing?

He was out against the Sharks yesterday.

In a perfect world, with Benji unavailable and Ennis playing for the Bulldogs the Tigers would win it something like 40-6 with Robbie getting three try assists (one from a chip and chase) and scoring twice, with one of those a burrow under from dummy half near the tryline.

Ennis should be the last thing on Farah's mind given his current poor form.

This, but no matter how hard he tries to put it in the back of his mind, I suspect it will get to him and it will affect his performance.

IIRC, his last few matches against Ennis have also been poor. He should concentrate on not killing our attack with dumb kicks early in the tackle count, or murdering 5 on 2 overlaps like he did yesterday.

I love Robbie but he is not a patch on his 07-09 form at the moment. For three years I was convinced he was the best hooker in the game, and he was carrying what was an average side on his back and saving us week after week. But he seems to have lost something. Whether its injury or not I have no idea, but he doesn't seem the same player as he was.

I think losing his Origin jersey was a catalyst. I truly believe that's taken a mental toll on him. Everytime he comes up against Ennis he performs ordinarily. Even if he does outperform him in stats he contribution is to the detriment of the team. He wasn't even close to his 07-09 form last year either, and seems like he's on a downward spiral. That being said, it's not hard for Ennis to look good when he really isn't a linchpin for the Bulldogs in defence or attack.

He really needs to find that purple patch again though, I really am starting to miss the Farah of old.

Part of the blame goes to the refs for not enforcing offside markers and holding down players longer than before.

True, but that doesn't excuse his poor kicking game. Also a costly error from dummy half yesterday.

In 07-09 Farah was explosive. He looks pedestrian out there at times. He is still a quality player and can still create things but he's hardly consistent and takes the wrong option alot of the time.

The refs have been policing the rule the same all season. Farah has to adjust his game around this. We as a club need to learn to adapt to changes in the way the rules are ploiced and make change to it rather then still trying to play the same way and complaining about it.

I think the reason Robbie isn't getting the penalties is because he runs into the markers obviously looking for a penalty. If he tries to run PAST them and they tackle him he will get the penalty

Simple Dummy runners will attract the marker's attention and give Robbie more space. Tigers don't seem to have any players in motion this year. We also seem to be the worst club at adapting to rule interpretation changes- eg the wrestle mark i, ii, iii, markers leaving earlier. We Must change our game to overcome them rather than whinging. We've barely changed the game plan since 2005 which was the last time the wrestle and markers were controlled.

wont matter farah is this years version of invisible man so so so dissapointing so so overated

There have been a number of times this year when I wished he was invisible, or not there. he seems to always take the wrong option at crucial times - there were a few prime examples yesterday ie kicking when we had a 3 man overlap.

I hope Ennis does play, and Robbie has a blinder. I also hope I win lotto on Saturday night.

I'll go you halves in the win PP

I cant put my finger on it but robbie is not having the impact he had in previous seasons.
We can ask "is he a marked man"? but the answer is that he is no more marked than previous years. Is he injured? If he is he should declare that he intends to play on injured so we can either say 'rest him' or we can give him compassion.. I dont think his form is bad but it has declined a touch. Is he unhappy at the club or troubled personally?? We dont really know whats going around in robbies mind but he is the leader and when things are not going too well at the top it is sure to filter its way down through the ranks.
All the best robbie, we are with you all the way champ.

Ennis has won the personal battles with Rob the past few times they've played IMO. I'm interested to see if he can turn this trend around…I know he can.
