Will the Weststigers survive

Things are bad at the Weststigers at board level and at a financial level, looks like they might not survive even into next season if serious things don,t take place. It,s probable time a show down between the 2 partners take place and decide whether this venture continues as it is.
Not even getting involved with one or the other but things are bad and need rectifying ASAP ,personally I couldn't care less who wins who loses I just want a team to support but at the moment this is not good for anyone .Please can this club start to be run by mature adults!

Like most buisness that face adversity. They won't only survive this is the perfect catalyst to make them thrive. It is increasingly obvious that the board can't keep going the way it is.Finally at breaking point once that is fixed we have great juniors , a good buisness plan and a bright future. Time to go board there will be no where to hide soon.

The board needs to go, beginning with Mike Bailey. we need independent board members with no agendas to run this club. Would love to see the NRL step in and take control.

Those worried about the club being moved if the NRL got control, that wont happen, no way the NRL would get rid of a club in the West, too valuable.

We should start an online petition or facebook page calling for the board to step down

Hope so! and luckily the NRL can oust the board i reckon.

This certainly looking like quick moving revolving doors. All sorts of people coming and going. Hopefully all the smoke and dust settles very, very soon.

Friends and fans of Wests Tigers Petition Group…

search it

I get where everyone is going, but changing the board is only apart of a solution…

Lets be honest, we all know Wests Group prop up alot of the expenses/on-costs of running the Wests Tigers.

If anyone was successful in moving on the current board, I would also assume the Wests money wouldnt be readily available...

Are those that are successful in replacing the board, also prepared to put in some coin to ensure the club remains solvent and has a strong financial future?

The only way to do it is with guarantees from the NRL to prop us up if need be.

Wests Tigers are an important club strategically and it is time they started being administered as such

Just saying were a western sydney team wont save us. After all we only played 4 games out west this year, and some of those games were sub 10k. I really think we over rate our importance to the NRL.

It just isn't the western corridor attachment.

Our past has shown when properly administrated and run with committed players we draw fans, we make for good tv etc. etc.

NRL have already stated they will not prop us up until we sort out our board debacle

I would love the NRL to step in, dismiss the board and prop us up for two years while we re-establish

Yeah, someone else in another thread told me how big pullers of crowds we are. Thats why we play out of sh*t grounds. The TV deal is done for the next 4 years and a more national comp will be needed next time round. Were not safe at all in my opinion.

Andrew Webster in the SMH says - "Dave Smith told [Tigers] a unified board with independent directors would be required if they expected any handout from the league"

Why would the NRL give us a handout when we snub money from Stadium deals and one side of the venture has a leagues club flushed with money??? There's no reason why we should be begging for money.
. It reminds me of people you see rock up to centrelink in a new SUV.

When did we become scabs?

As of last night I would say.
The way we are playing we literally are the dole-bludgers of the NRL.

The most likely scenario if we hit dire straights would be wests Ashfield would take us on 100 % they are the only ones with cash but we would still be wests tigers Imo

Well it makes sense I guess. The club has been paying players for doing nothing for years. They assume they can get money from the NRL for nothing aswell. Its a smart bunch of cookies we got there.

Why do we need a handout from the NRL?

We have issues, but we will sort it all out. We are not high on the list of concerns for the NRL at the moment.
