Will this team ever learn how to win in Goldenpointitus?

Just wondering coz I have seen this team lose in Golden point in new ways over and over again n 3 different eras, all starting in 04 when souffs did it

I can only remember ONE time the team won in Golden point which was a Farah Field Goal against Knights, their might have been one against sharks with a penalty goal too.. it's hard to know how it feels to win in golden point when your team loses them 98% of the time

Way of the mark, its about 99.9% of the time

Im sick of Golden Point. No the tigers aren't good at it but a draw is a draw. We should have finished the comp on 21 points.

I have never liked golden point and during the regular season it should be the final score at 80mins.there never has been anything wrong with a draw

Exactly! The game goes for 80 mins. What the scoreboard says at 80 mins is the fulltime score. Play on in semis and gfs but in rounds 1-26 it is a draw.

Trust Farah to jag a penalty that normally never gets called. Refs never give him ruck penalties, but call him for marker square in GP.

I'd love to see the tape if the Dragons were square for Patty's 3 attempts.

The team does know how to win golden point they put Richards in front of the sticks 3 times and usually Richards would eat those kicks so yes the team did its job.

Someone put a picture up on Twitter of Pats first drop goal attempt in ET. It showed Dragons standing at least two-three metres in front of referee when Farah picked up ball ad dummy half.

They were not for our entire previous set for Pat's last attempt not just the last tackle the previous 6 as well…go figure

The problem wasn't that he blew the whistle. The problem was that he called Farah out of play so he had to. The refs usually just shut their trap there. He gave no option but to pull Farah up by audibly calling him out. Farah was so close to onside that he should never have called that in normal game time let alone golden point 20 out in front.

Half the Dragons side was a couple of metres in front of the ref on Pat's first attempt.
That said, Robbie wasn't square, Pat should've made his third, Bunji should've made his second and we should never have even got that close.

98% is a slight exaggeration  I think we have won our fair share of Golden Point games since its introduction. That said, I still hate the concept and always will. I don't think it's fair that any team has to end up losing when they have busted their guts to be equal after 80 minutes. A draw and a point to each team worked fine for 100 odd years, so I don't know why they had to change it.

Wouldn't have mattered anyway it was a charge down guys and they had 6 more and no doubt would have kicked a field goal next set of 6

but yeah we have goldenpointitus and we only hate it because we never friggin win it

from memory we have only won 2 of them sharks via penalty in I think 2006??? or 07 and knights in 2010/

04 lost one of the first ever golden point games to souffs
we lost 2 against raiders in 06 the famous Peyton strip and letting the raiders score a FG at the 89 min mark.
lost to eels also in 06
I am pretty sure we lost about 5 golden point games in 06
lost to souths in 2012 choking a 16-4 lead
lost to dogs in 2012 Farah broken hand game

there you go 2 from about 9 so far I have named I bet there is about anther 3 or 4 I have missed either way its in the 80 t 99% range we losse them

we have lost 10 golden points 4… Pretty pathetic nt quite 98% but that's 4 from 14 which is about so that's 71.4 of the time we lose golden point games

Well the team only wins about 35% of its matches in regular time so that's pretty consistent.

I never saw the penalty on Farah replayed at all. Was it fair?

Blew me away the decision that decided the game was not replayed in the few minutes I stood around gobsmacked.

When the hell does Patty miss 3 kicks at fg in a row? Could of left the NRL on a massive high.

So many questions….

will the NRL ever just dump the stupid idea? I think is the better question, it's ludicrous and unnecessary during the regular season.

The NRL is supposedly concerned about player burnout on top of that yet demands, for some bizarre reason, this to ensure players spend more time on the field….....

Just watched the press conference . One jurno brought up the question. Do u think the Refs will make calls like that in extra time during the finals?
Robbie said they have now set a precedent.
However i doubt it.
Btw ..Lawerence's defence and attitude was missed Yesterday
