Will we make the 8 in 2019?

no.
I think there is more improvement in the teams who finished below us in 2018.
cant see any team dropping out of the top 8 from 2018,either.
hope springs eternal,of course.

Really. I can see improvement in the knights if they get Klemmer.

But Manly I see nothing. Titans will do better but not too different. Cowboys will improve a little but they are loosing a lot of players, Eels well a slight roster boost but they have big issues and the Bulldogs were looking a little better till Klemmer wanted to leave.

I am optimistic. McGuire is going to take a little bit of time to settle into the role. But we have a fairly good spine Farah, Brooks, Reynolds… ok 3/4 ain't bad.

Our biggest issue is go forward. Swapping Sue for Ryan Matherson and loosing the depth of Grant, well I think we are weaker up front.

Mikaele well and truly covers Grant

Man that guy is a unit. I hope that we keep him in our side.
We need Quality more then Quantity up front. Hope he lives up to the hype.

i suppose when u say will we make the 8 in 2018 ur referring to just 1st grade..not ISP or Jersey Flegg, cause if all else fails…we have them

Not if we continue this hooker on the bench nonsense.
Either go with Robbie or Liddle for 80 mins.
Another prop in the rotation will do us wonders.

Theres a ton of improvement in the current crop of players.

We could of / Should have easily won at least 4 more games on 2018.

There is a matrurity / confidence and displine issue at our club that impacts our ability to have a higher win %.

I think we saw a change in 2018 that we have never before seen. A grind.

If that continues to grow, along with a few choice recruits…. We could be a more serious team in 2020/21

2019 = No

We are probably two players away from being a serious unit

So will reserve my judgement until we see where our recruitment ends up and the side we put out Rd 1

With our current side with no upgrades somewhere from 7th-11th

I think Maguire will be given the clearance to do whatever is necessary to make the eight. I have a feeling a couple of players will be moved on for others.

He should be able to attract decent talent and has cap space. Anything less than the 8 is a failure next year.

Agree with you and the general sentiment.

We are mostly pragmatic in acklowlwging that we have a squad that has potential and mostly good attitudes, We are a mid teir team which is an improvement in all honesty.

Club board and Management have been very good in allowing the Prev coach to do what he saw fit, With Maguire I think he will be better placed to instill confidence in all stakeholders.

Still a few years away from 9-11th to be a constant 5th to 8th

I dont see the WTs being in the same category of the Storm, Roosters

We can however be a Sharks, rabbits, broncos, Cows in a few years

Like other posters have already said pick either Robbie or Liddle no swapping except for injury. No Benji unless jr is injured. Pick wingers and stick with them, no dropping them or moving position. If we do this we will have a consistent team that can try and gel. If after the seasons over its been another failed season players can be held accountable and dropped to reserve grade or moved on entirely if possible. When I look back at Ivan's constant changing of the team and 5 Captain rubbish I'm supposed we even finished 9th. I really can't wait for next year with madge. Oh yeah nearly forgot yeah we will cruise on into the 8

The problem is that we could have easily lost 3 or 4 games that we actually won last season.

If we don't beat the Storm twice and Easts once next season, we will have to win those 4 games you speak of to be any chance of making the 8.
