Will we make the 8 in 2019?

Ok, Cleary has left, McGuire comes in. Ryan and Paul in. Sue, Grant, Naiqama and Lolohea out.

Are we making the 8, what's your guess. Yes or No?

My guess, We will be 7th-8th. I had imagined that we could push to 6th but doubt it.
I am imaging the Warriors tanking without Johnson, St George could be slimming but they will be tough. I can also see Melbourne being a top 8 instead of a top 4 squad, but they will be there. Cronulla *may* slip but I am still seeing them in the 8.

Wests Tigers

2019 gains: Paul Momirovski (Roosters), Ryan Matterson (Roosters - 2021)

2019 losses: Tuimoala Lolohea (Leeds Rhinos), Kevin Naiqama (St Helens), Sauaso Sue (Bulldogs), Bayley Sironen (Rabbitohs), Tim Grant (Panthers)

I'm thinking Tim Grant is filthy - we will miss the eight again. Lose a few players, go big 2020, premiership window 2022-2024

If Reynolds is fit and hungry, he and Brooks could get us there. The one thing I am happy about is that Maguire will not be using Packer as a decoy so we will soon see how much passion this guy has for our jumper.

If our next two signings are walk up start top 13 players we have a good chance, but if they are journeymen I think we will probably slip a peg or two. Hard to imagine a team with so many players close to the end of their careers doing to much damage. Once again 2020 could be very different

Pretty much agree and what has to be taken into consideration is a few clubs below us this season are going to be definite improvers IMO it is going to be tough with the cattle on the books.

Agree with both posters on this. I'll add that Injuries will also be a key factor for us going into the new season. Having a make shift 9 for a majority of this season didn't help, same with Reynolds being injured for what felt like the whole season.

We'll certainly give it a shake. We had a solid run after bringing in Robbie and mbye mid-year, who will now get a full pre-season.

If we can nab a quality centre and prop in those last two open spots and injuries are kind, we should get there.

Heart says yes, head says no.

Unless there are further roster changes we have very limited depth. Our outside backs are threadbare

Depends on how many times, wests tigers will get a fair go from the ref's in all games in 2019.
No crap calls benefiting " the more fancied team" and handing them a win.

For all we know may have a great ultra competitive team in 2019, but if keep getting hammered by ref's, no chance.

Maybe the new coach will stand up, and make a lot of noise at press conferences, to show that wests tigers are not going to tolerate, they rubbish decisions they have been handed in the past.

We have made the 8, 3 times out of 19 tries. Stats suggests no. The top 8 will be most likely 7 of the teams from this year will make it and one other. Don't see us being the one other. So no. We are a club to make up the numbers.

Will we make the 8 in 2019? That's completely up to the coach and the players, with a little encouragement from supporters and management. Can be done if these factors gel together. A happy team all round certainly helps.

2-4 teams consistently fail to make the 8 who made it the previous year.We dont need to improve much to get there, the 7 teams who finished behind us do

I say we won't. The last round was a clear example of how far off we are. IF other teams teams turn up, I can't see us matching them.

Barely any (if any) of our issues from this year have been really addresed.

Any 2019 squad that has Benji, Taylor, Nofo, and Chee Kam in their top 17 is in trouble, also I have big doubts on Packer and Mats having a season of impact.

I wouldn’t take that game as a barometer. They had already left the building by that match, it was clear from kick-off. On our day I don’t think we are actually that far behind at all. It’s more about consistency and putting in week after week as well as being injury free. Not sure how many players we used this year but I suspect it was more than the winning teams.

Hopefully we have a settled spine, sign a damaging forward and have a good run on injuries, especially JR. Then I think we are a good chance of making the eight.
