is georgallis working with the team at concord now and who is the the others on our coaching staff will we miss steve folkes and gentles

This is a good post ..yes who is our full coaching staff ? I am getting the feeling there is a little of jobs for the boys happening! Can someone enlighten us on this subject.

From an article today on our homepage:

The NRL squad of 32 contracted players have been working very hard on their fitness levels for the past week and a half under new Wests Tigers Strength and Conditioning Coach John Skandalis.
>
Players have undertaken weight, speed and pilate sessions as well as a torturous Strongman Challenge. A series of skills sessions have also been held under Wests Tigers Assistant Coach Steve Georgallis and Elite Junior Player and Coaching Manager Grant Jones in the absence of Wests Tigers and Australian Head Coach Tim Sheens.

I wouldn't say they are missing them at all to be honest. Looks like the players are getting well and truly flogged in the fitness/strength/endurance stakes and Sheens, Georgalis and Jones will certainly have enough ideas among them to keep the Tigers attack looking sharp once ballwork starts in the new year. Defence training should be interesting because Gibbs and Payten are a loss in the forward pack, but Blair can certainly defend well and Reddy is solid out wide, or in the middle if he plays backrow.

Skando will have them working nice and hard with the Strongman Challenge a taste of things to come, good luck to 'em.

Hopefully Skando strikes that balance needed to prepare the boys without destroying them before the season begins.

Too many new Strength and Conditioning coaches come into first grade and rip the crap out of their team in the preseason. Parramatta are notorious for the "toughest off season eva!" stuff every year.

Skando has plenty of experience behind him to guide his approach he managed to survive a number of fitness coaches himself hopefully he learned from the good ones.

regardless of who is currently the coaching staff:
need to have a very good off season. instill the mental toughness from word go.
so you are prepared for games during season, when things are against you, as it happens, that you know you will find inner strength and overcome any situation.

if you rest on your laurels from where you finished last season, then you will get your butt kicked all over the field, for majority of season..

Fully agree happy! Folkes is a massive loss, wish he stayed! As important as it is to start well it is even more important to peak around July and get a good run into September, so I personally hope they are trained really hard through December (as jan is always the toughest training month). Really hope the mental toughness is instilled in them, sure it will be as skando had plenty of it himself, goodluck to him!

I hope the coaching staff are able improve our ability to wrestle in defense and to play the ball quicker in attack. Blair will bring some knowledge with him in this regard?
