I am going to defend Vicious here, I don't agree with him. But his arguments aren't swiss cheese.
"
The funding keeps the Balmain junior reps alive, do you not understand that ?
You better than anyone should understand how important it is for the Balmain junior reps to continue.
But you want to totally remove the same people that find the teams you support and enjoy watching play each season.
Yes you can be unhappy with a lot of decisions they make, but to say they don’t care, don’t do anything to help and need to be removed without being given an opportunity to make better decisions and do things better is harsh when you know they do things that are help and are in the best interests of Wests Tigers such as funding the Balmain junior reps." Vicious.

So HBG gives funding to the Wests Tigers. Were a NRL club and we need $$$.

I am pretty sure Vicious means "Fund the teams", I find makes no sense unless Burgess has Altzheimers...*

The core argument HBG care. They could easily say "it's in Wests Ashfield's interest to expand further into Ashfield". Yes they are non for profit but they don't have to spend their money on the Wests Tigers. HBG spend a lot of money on this club and they could turn away.

I do agree with Vicious, HBG 'care'.

My take is this:
HBG don't care about Campbelltown. I said it before I will say it again. The biggest decision this board took was expanding Campbelltown stadium. This is being interprited as a Magpies Vs Balmain fight and I don't believe it is that. I believe it is HBG wanting to keep the Tigers closer to Ashfield, we just saw recent upgrades to our club facilities and I believe this whole mess is over the 50 Million for Campbelltown stadium.

HBG and Wests Ashfield may feel it's not in their clubs interests to expand south to C'town. They haven't said this, they are feeding us BS. It's an arugment that would make sense to me**.

Now I don't agree with Vicious. I think Dennis Burgess needs to be reprimanded over all of this. I would love it if PVL went in and said "Dennis must step down as a Director for 5 years". Yet PVL heard both sides, reinstated the directors and gave HBG more board representation??? PVL should have slammed the hammer but I suspect he did not because of similar arguments Vicious is making.

*maybe this makes sense. "OMG there is a Balmain team in our club again, where did they come from... Wah"..

**I believe it is in the wests Tigers interest to establish themselves in that area and ensure were the feeder club for the southern highlands. I am saying this may not serve the interests of Wests Ashfield.
So doing the bare minimum shows you care? I take it you're not married or in a serious relationship then.
They currently own the license to Wests Tigers in the nrl. They should be doing everything they can to make sure the team is a success on and off the field. Yet for 15 years they have not.
How many 'owners' of a sports team refuse to invest in that team? It doesn't make sense and any notion that some make that the 12th reshuffle of deckchairs on the Wests Ashfield Titanic board will radically change the output and decisions that the previous 11 editions of the board is just naive. If Wests had competent leaders, capable of making sound business decisions, why would they have kept them in hiding for the past 15 years?

Darcy is undermining what PVL has done to resolve the situation.
No he's not. He's providing the context that Vlandys seemingly glossed over in his attempt to wrap this up as quickly as possible.
Vlandys actions have done a lot of harm and achieved absolutely nothing positive to resolve the situation.
All he did was loosely suggest there may be changes in the future of they mess up. Nothing clear or definitive.

So in other words you don’t trust or believe what PVLvsays to be true ?
Trust issues by the sounds of it.

I respect people’s passion for this, but if I’m being honest, it felt a little cringy seeing it on the news. Just adds to the circus that is the club we support. To the average Joe Blow who doesn’t follow this or care, it looks like just another day in Tigertown.
Actually it was amazing how many fans from other clubs are supporting the rally and the fans. It is chat to most people in the nrl that our owners are not and have not been up to the job. They feel sorry for us having to deal with the incompetence of a serious serving HBG and genuinely want us to achieve meaningful change at the club.

We all thought we had already achieved this of course, but we underestimated how evil and power hungry Wests Ashfield really is.

How do we appease the Magpies enough for them to let independent people run Wests Tigers?

- let them design the Campbo WT jersey
- let them run and profit from Campbo games
- honour their proud history at Campbo games
- make the Magpies more prominent on the jersey
- keep the reserve grade side as the magpies and pump money into growing it’s brand

I don’t actually know what they want, but it’s worth having the conversation.
Do you realise the war that had also been waged between Wests Ashfield and Wests Campbelltown? Essentially Wests Campbelltown gave up on Wests Tigers and couldn't be bothered continuously fighting with Wests Ashfield for respect and sound business decisions.
Wests Tigers needs Wests Campbelltown back in the fold, much more than we need Wests Ashfield.

And ultimately we don't appease a Vocal minority. Wests Tigers' owners and leaders need to make decisions that are best for the Wests Tigers organisation. Wests magpies and balmain tigers are irrelevant distractions. They belong nowhere but in the local community via junior reps. That's their level.

Nah mate, there were no Magpie jerseys (that’s fake news).
I will however give you the old bloke in the polo, I walked with him back up to Ashfield Mall after the fizz had gone out of proceedings.
I was there and saw at least 4-5 people wearing Wests magpies jerseys or other gear. One Victa jersey was definitely there

The ironic part is, yes he is. He’s been a teacher for over 30 years, and a very popular one at that, who has had a positive affect on hundreds of students. His whole take on this is bizarre to say the least, but has runs on the board for being a good guy.
Fair enough, teaching is a much valued and respectable profession. He might need to return to his roots as footy admin is likely in his past now. Like it was for that dinosaur from balmain that shit his mouth off too.

He rushed into a hasty decision without gathering all the details first. And it's certainly not the dust time he's done that. He's not a thinker or someone known for empathy. He's a bull in a China shop. That's his management style...

How would you possibly know he rushed into a decision without knowing the facts ?

That’s the attitude keep disrespecting people who have played at first grade level.
What's that got to do with anything? There are tens of thousands of people who've played first grade.
Sure it's a good achievement to have made it that far in the sport, but it means absolutely buying else in any other aspect of life.

How would you possibly know he rushed into a decision without knowing the facts ?
A assumption yes, but one based on the fact t get he came in and came to a conclusion Berry quickly, and didn't speak to all the stakeholders involved in the issue.
If you cherry pick who you speak to you reach biased outcomes.

Not that I care who wore what...but a couple of members here
have stated they wore Magpies gear with no angst towards them.
They must have been up watching the cricket because I certainly didn’t see them. Anyone got photos ?

Surely wearing Western Suburbs or Balmain gear is idiotic at a WT Unite gig. All the professionally made signs said so 🤷‍♂️

Lots of ex-first graders have been disrespected.

This bloke played 23 games for Magpies where he managed last once and second last twice. Hardly some club hero. Failed player. Failed administrator. He wouldn't know what a successful club looks like because he's never been in one.

Love the seafood references Steve. Very on brand.
Seriously mate I swear this guy's on here to be a stirrer, what other explanation is there, is he trying to convert us there's Buckleys of doing that he's just going to cop deserved criticism.

If he keeps it up, I will have to post the chicken again.

Nah mate, i was there and I saw him, he had a white hoodie over his shoulders...may have thrown that on when he saw the 100's of ppl wearing WT gear. If i wanted to lie i would have said there were more. Sad thing is I used to actually respect the old magpies supporters, my favourite uncle was one, salt of the earth, hard worker and a hard man, but fair. We shared a passion for the WT after the merge and 2005 was an incredible experience for both of us..unfortunately he has passed on. Last few weeks reading the crap on this forum has worn away alot of that respect. He must have been the exception not the rule.
