There is a difference between using descriptors to characterize the behaviour of a group of people and personal insults.
Let me show you the difference with examples.

1) That Liberal Party really are a group of right wingers who hammer their conservative views

Perfectly acceptable

2) That Sussan Ley is an idiotic ho bag

Not acceptable.

Can you see how personal abuse where you single out an individual is different?

Now in my case the only person I have singled out is Mayor Darcy Leichhardt because Leichhardt Leichhardt Leichhardt.
