Willie Mason [Discussion]

I wish it was a gee up…

Do you guys seriously think he might still sign with Tigers.?

Look I am dissapointed with it dont get me wrong but the club wont come out and OFFICIALLY announce they are NOT signing someone....

I think it is done a dusted.

This Is willy mason

The Woy Woy Peninsula this afternoon is a buzz with the prospect of Big Willie pulling on the Roosters red & white number 10 jersey this season.
Master captain/coach Adam Tippett is just the man to ressurect the career of the former Bulldog and a third party sponsorship arrangement with the spiritually rarified Gnostic corner may well help centre the shakra of a previously troubled soul…

Round 1 vs Umina - should go off !

Maybe the club is just waiting to see if the raiders give us a real hidding and run straight through us , i hope note , because if they are they mite just get what they fear a tigers get flooged

Smoking Gun always seems to be on the mark with his info. The problem appears to be the 2nd year of this deal. Not fans and sponsor issues. His signing would put 1500-2000 people more through the gates on his debut.

Does he ? Smoking gun said 2 months ago we would know in 2 weeks.
Stephen Humphreys just said they only just started talking to Mason this week.

Is it possible Humpty might be bending the truth?

:astonished: You mean like telling Bryce Gibbs he was in our future plans and signing him up for another 3 years. Oh sorry No that's not bending. How is your dog going Gibbsy?

As one of the few people who appreciate the references above I'll give it a  Gnostic corner indeed!!!
Maybe Mason can have all he can eat at the league's club which, based on my experience of the quality of food, is not much…

Woy Woy v Umina does goes off! The Bunnies are normally the ones with a history in big name ringers - Mark Geyer comes to mind... Shame that the grandstand is closed at Woy Woy Oval so if the hordes go to check out Big Willie they'll be stuck in the outer...

Well the mail i got today is big Willie is still on the target and he is playing in group 6 this weekend for fitness,so it seems the Willy is on and off and on etc etc etc

The guy just said a club in group 6 , who knows weve heard it all regarding Willie

I've just caught up for breakfast with a friend who works in the manly front office. He said the tigers have been in talks with manly about taking on George Rose for the rest of season 2012\. Said no deal had been agreed to as yet as the tigers were using it as a fall back option if tigers don't get mason.

I would take big George Rose over Mason any day, although that is not to say that I would not take Mason.

You obviously didnt watch the NSW cup game on Wednesday afternoon. George Rose was a big unit and looks like he spent all off season eating. The guy was was MASSIVE.

Cuthbertson used to be like that. Now he's a good performer. If these guys have the self drive they can get back into form pretty quick. Besides we only need some good short stints from the bench.

spot on , thats why George is in state cup . Manly have told him to lose some weight big time before theyll pick him in the top grade .o and my mail said we are in talks as with big george.

As much as I think Mason is a bit of a 'has been' now, he would still be a far better option than the 'never was' or 'never will be' that is George Rose. I knew we were desperate, but Rose? Seriously? A fat, lazy player that has zero impact is NOT what we need.

Manly will be desperate to offload cash now DCE has been upgraded, there was talk brett stewart would be sacrificed, but now Matai and rose seem to be the sacrificial lambs to the slaughter
