Willie mason ???

Offer him 50k plus incentives not to come. I wouldn't have him at the Tigers even if it was for licking the benches clean.

He is a zillion times better than Bell and will offer more impact than Groat and Woods. But the bloke is a PR nightmare. He called another bloke that baited him on twitter 2 days ago a 'C' word. He is truly a child. He will never grow up.

Read his tweets, they are embarrassing . He thinks he is some type of Harlem Gangster. He needs to drop all that childish rubbish and man up.

I would release BELL (on par with Jason Cayless and Trent Runcimen) and sign Mason on the proviso that he drops Twitter and his gangster Kings Cross / Maroubra image.

We will be in the top 4 for sure with Mason playing 30 minutes plus. Bending the line back with greatly benefit Robbie and Benji.

I think he'll go to Parra he has been training privately with Reni and I think that connection will see him go there

I've been thinking about his options a lot. 4 sydney teams are apparently interested. Us, I'll assume Penrith and Parramatta and I have no idea who the last side is. It's obvious he's not going to be getting a lot of money to play regardless of where he goes., From Willie's perspective we'd be the best decision to make as we're probably the most likely to have onfield success compared to the other clubs mentioned.

We did not sign Bell for impact, we signed him to do the hard yards and that he can do well. Woods is probably the best frontrow prospect to come on the scene in years and as for Groat he will get better with experience. Now to say big Willie offers more than these guys is a big call. Really I would not swap any of the three for a aging Willie Mason that has a single digit IQ

I never said we signed Bell for impact. He is just a VERY VERY average player. GROAT and WOODS have the potential to become top line players, no doubt, but put all 4 on the field now and MASON would leave the biggest impression.

That may be true, but unfortunately Mason would also leave the biggest impression off the field, and that is something that our club doesn't need at the moment. We have a great group of talented players, with a good group of youngsters as well, and we can't afford to let them be influenced by someone of Mason's personality. We're better off with someone who will work hard and show the right way both on and off the field like Bell.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Bell bug. The bloke hasn't played a game and you're calling for his head?
Bell and Cayless are a different kettle of fish. Cayless was injury prone and had his best football well behind him. Bella's fit and will offer a lot to our up and comers and add some stability through experience when he comes onto the paddock.

Disagree. I'd take Woods ahead of Mason at this point in their careers. Woods has a better motor and has his head firmly screwed on his shoulders. The way he finished last season leads me to believe he will only improve on that this year. Same applies for Groat who has gotten stronger and fitter.

I'd take Woods, but I'm not yet convinced Groat would be able to match the impact Mason would have… I think Bug has expressed some very good points and its pretty clear if you were judging Mason for his on-field efforts, he would clearly be an asset in some capacity.

I'm still not convinced this is a good thing. With the off-field days of our lives in 2011 and rumours re Farah/Sheens, I wouldn't want Mason anywhere near our boys.

Realistically, Bell wouldn't come close to offering what Mason would offer on the park!

You're pretty much on the mark Bug except I'd say Woods will kick up another gear this year and will probably outshine Mason if he gets a start. The bloke is a mess off-field and I wouldn't be wanting my kids emulating his behaviour. He would however slot into our side nicely off the bench as you mentioned, injecting him late in the first half and in the middle 20 of the second.

As someone mentioned already though, out of the Sydney clubs showing interest in him, surely his best bet in order to reap the cash in his last few seasons would be to sign with a club who is a real prospect to win the premiership?

You'd think it'd have to be sorted pretty soon. The seasons just over a month away and trials a couple of weeks. He hasn't got forever.

HMMM well if we got him cheap, and he performed well then thats a bonus . If he stuffs up he is straight out the door,so it could work for Wests.Ido think on the field he would offer more than Bell will.Off the field well thats up to Mason.

If Farah & Marshall vetoed Todd Carney joining us a few years ago, I wonder where they stand with Mason.
If there is a club to rebuild his image though, it is our one. Mason is a sheep and he had more negative influencers around him at the other clubs he played for then you'll ever find here. I think players like Blair, Ellis, Lawrence, Farah, and Benji will keep him grounded.
