Willie mason ???

Hopefully not by us…. Then that's the exact phrase I used in relation to Matt Utai.

I was glad to rescind those comments.....

Maybe...

He will be picked up it's a guarantee

By who smoking gun? Cmon you have been really good with your scoops. Dont hold us out like this!

He's already said that it will most likely Parra or Penriff.

Past his prime? Possibly alcohol problem? Definitely attitude problem? Sounds like a definite Parra signing to me…

While with the cowboys mason was putting up career best numbers as far as hit ups taken and meters gained, He still has something to offer any club who wants to pick him up.

I agree that he lifted his game considerably at the Cows but that was after a long run of fairly mediocre seasons. I just question some times if he knows what he wants - ESL, French Rugby, NRL. So much depends on where his head is at… If he is switched on he is a good player but he's very easily distracted.

I just question whether at his age he is worth the risk. We can only hope that any offer is based on this risk.

$120k a year would be a justifiable amount for any club to pay him, switched on he is a force but that's been few and far between in recent years.

If he was prepared to play for match payments in the view to resurect his career then i would have him in the team. Trying to make a name for himself would be enough to get the best out of him and from the statements he made about wanting to be remembered for the right reasons i think it would work. Tigers are a bit thin on front row experience so i think both the Tigers and Mason would benifit. Would give us more size….........

one of the guys at work today walked up to me and what about big willie being a Tiger, I asked him where heard that crap and said he got a text from somwebody he knows at the Tigers saying they were talking to him today and he's already done a medical.

Hmmm. I don't think anyone should be celebrating/necking themselves until something is announced by the club.

I can't take the credit for this but hubby said he was having a brain scan.

Our tip Willie to Newcastle.

Yeah it came back negative!!

Willie offers something on the field, off the field he has the potential to be a bad influence, not worth the risk IMO

Over the last few seasons, what he offered "on the field" was not up to NYC team level.

Could be apart of the new Macarthur direction the club is focusing on… Sign Willie, put him in the Magpies Team to get greater media focus for the old Black Birds?!

Who said the Tigers dont care!
