…........NOW.

I have a good feeling about Willie.
He has developed nicely and 2010 should see him come into his own as a powerhouse off the bench.

Thoughts ???

I agree. I'm actually inclined to consider Willie in my starting lineup.

11 Ellis
12 Mataka
13 Heighington

Is imo our best backrow lineup.

Agreed…...In my 17 from the start..........Expect big things from Willie..........

Along with Blake Ayshford.........

Also mataka finished 2nd out of the whole team in the sprints.. beat the likes of Lawrence etc..

he was fastest over 30 and 60 meters..

giddy up

Mataka can hit a hole, so he'll suit us much more than some other backrowers we have….....hopefully he'll get his chance and take it.

I think Little Willie is the reason why Jr. Moops will be forced to play as a front rower..

But starting backrow for me would be:
11\. Gower
12\. Heighington
13\. Ellis

I think Gower left didn't he?

I hope Mataka has a big 2010 on the field. He played well for BRET last season and held his own in the couple of FG games he got. Sounds like he has improved his pace in the off-season which is a big plus, hopefully his strength is up and he works hard on defence. Looking forward to watching him in the trials.

No, he was offered a contract at the very last minute I believe. He should have been offered one a lot earlier though IMO.

i don't see heighington's value? if he goes to the bears that will be a positive because he'll be in his 30's then. but moltzen is the bloke i'm worried about, his genuine attributes and skill could see other clubs including the bears scouting him

Stats for Willie Mataka from WT Official Website

Date of Birth : 18 October, 1988 (Just turned 21)
Height : 183 cm
Weight : 103 kg

Still a bit of bulking up to come.

2010 is looking Good for WT

Mataka is class. I hope he can find a place in our backrow. But Sheens'll almost certainly be using Rhino, Ellis + Payten or Fulton at lock.

Gee hate to think coach Sheens had more idea of his players than you?

Surely Lawrence is still carrying an injury?

I have never seen anyone in the comp run Lawrence down so it just amazes me his not fastest over 60 metres.
