Kepaoa is a real conundrum.

He does some really really good things. Then he just loses me with one or two dumb plays.

I think there is something there we should try to develop.

I think he will come good.

He needs to fix his attitude and be more urgent, and stop standing around watching when things go wrong. Mistakes are just practice, practice and more practice.

As much as I wanted AJ hooked I still think there is an upside .. he did look a bit looser running at least ,Madge will persist as no one stands out to replace him at present .

Did you notice the good work he did.

He takes a lot of dirty hit ups, can really whack in defense. gets quick play the balls. Gets through the tackle in traffic.

8 first grade games, there is room for improvement.

But like i said then he cant even catch and pass which has to be a concentration issue.

Happy to see him go back to State Cup and work it out but these calls that he just isnt up to NRL are off the mark.

I'd like to see us give Fitzgibbon a go, blood him in. He's supposedly 1 of the fast players. How many players have we let go to other clubs that are fast? Addo-Carr, Korebete, Papenhuzen. All to the Storm as well. Would hate to see us let another player with speed go & have success elsewhere. 2 things a coach can not coach, enthusiasm & speed.

Fitzgibbon's pace causes problems for defences and he is also strong. Let's hope the Club works hard with him and Gebbie to get them into our NRL team.

I agree. You look at Sivo at parra and what radradra did before him and nothing beats pace and strength. Every time Fitzgibbon ran the ball yesterday he looked dangerous. I would rather give him a shot.

They both played NSW cup for a couple of years before jumping into first grade. Fitzgibbon has played two games, a long way to go.

True BB but even in his short career, the constant threat that his pace creates offers our team a significant advantage. When all teams are looking for an edge, having Fitzgibbon and Gebbie tearing it up on your wings together with a super quick fullback puts the team into a different league. Also both wingers are strong and will hit it up.

Yeah I saw the work he did. Fix his attitude when things go wrong and he’ll be a much better player. At the moment he’s lucky to be in the NRL side.

I’m all for blooding another young lad but we may have to keep Kepoa for the Eels game.
We need a big body with at least some NRL experience to mark Fergo(I think he will cause havoc regardless)
I’m probably more concerned about Nofa marking Sivo 😐

They will kick at sivo all game

The only wing options as it stands in the current squad apart from Nofoaluma and Kepaoa are Talau, Cini and Hoffman..

Talau seems to have locked in as centre for now where he is playing well so doubt he would be moved..

Gebbie, Fitzgibbon and Kei are not available to play until after Round 10..

Bad matchup that one.
Noffa, close your eyes and hope for the best! Lol.
Sivo does get caught out of position.hopefully AD is keeping a close eye on that.

Until we buy someone, I'd have:

Mbye centre and push Talau to the wing. Bringing Simpkin onto the Bench.

Mbye is great defensively especially with communication.

Thanks for saving me typing the exact same thing.

Also I’d take Naden over Oates. Oates is coming back from a horror injury which will probably impact his speed and he wasn’t that quick to start with. The one thing Oates would give us is an aerial threat but I’d wait for better options.

,

But if he lets in more than he scores then ultimately it's not worth it. Not many players go straight from Ron Massey to NRL, there's a skill and experience gap there. He doesn't need to be perfect to get a run in first grade, but he's got work to do, and got to show he's got the right attitude and work ethic to train hard, improve and eventually demand a shot!

He's currently not even on a dev contract so not even in with any chance at gegtting picked until then.

My concern with Naden is that we keep buying every troubled player in the NRL.
Roberts, Leilua...now Naden?
Maybe Madge thinks he can give them the discipline to turn it around.

Is he really that troubled?
Got caught doing some coke, not the first and wont be the last

Doing coke on the eve of what was to date the biggest game opportunity of your life?

Sounds like a bit of a problem to me.

You're living in a dream ole mate...
You can't fix lack of effort - And that's his biggest problem.
He did it in his early games and is still doing it. (It's been almost 12 months for him in firsts.
His mistakes are game breakers - and he doesn't earn them back.
The fact he never bothers to stop, turn and chase when he makes a mistake - That's what kills me... When he missed that Benji Pass last year, He ran for 15m past the ball (if not more) Running his momentum out like he was at training, Or in under 6's where the ref was going to blow the whistle and give the ball back to him.
He is the most lethargic, unathletic looking winger I've seen in recent memory - Polynesian outside backs coming through these days look like they could run up a wall... He doesn't look like he could jump a puddle.
He's made it this far because he's a decent size - And has been for some time.
The game has overtaken him and he'd best go back to Rugby while he might still get a run...
I've seen nothing to suggest he'll ever make it in the NRL.

I was surprised he got the nod ahead of Talau in round 1. He’s struggling big time. Robert Jennings would be giving us the same output atm.

I don't think we'll get Naden. Penrith are aware of his quality and Melbourne have sniffed around him in the past. Oates I'm not sure about but he's on a lot of coin for a winger and has a lot of issues with injuries, but when he gets it right he's unstoppable.

I honestly think Gebbie is worth waiting for. he used to tear up QLD Cup for fun. he seriously could be anything, just needs a few months to get his body and his timing right. as for AJ, he was better defensively yesterday but his handling isn't NRL standard YET. he'll get there, hopefully the 2 points has him feeling a bit better come Easter Monday.

Talau is NOT a winger.

We have moved on from him doing us a favour and holding down that spot.

No you don't need to respond Buddy - You be back in a few weeks saying the same thing if they keep picking him.
