If we call up the 20's fullback that will oficially do me this year.

you dont rate him ?
is it the fact the kid knows how to break the line unlike hanbury who tends to make the dumbest plays when the game is on the line ???

if hanbury is the best option we have we are gone

I rate his as a prospect but let's be realistic. The glorified Jersey Flagg comp is no proving ground dor talent.

Case in point young Coedi Towney. Almost everyone was calling for him to be given a shot in the NRL last season. He was quick and evasive and knew how to get over the stripe.

This season he was put in State Cup for one game and was nowhere near up to the level required.

I think Mullaney is a big future prospect but now is not the time as, quite frankly, from all of the games I have watched he is not ready. Especially a fullback. Genuinely look at the kicking games in tat comp and tell me they are a real test of a fullbacks positional play abilities

the game is changing though ,i reckon more u20s talent has been used this year than state cup players
and most of them are coming through and playing well

as for postional play Hanbury and Moltzen are terrible at that too

I agree, he has a lot of potential, but I don't think he's ready. He's brilliant in attack, but is very very suspect under the high ball (and along the ground for that matter), and in defense. He's also the smallest player in the NYC.

More and more 20's players are coming through.

Doesn't make it a good thing.

I use Elford as an example. He was bog average when he left us at the en of 2006\. He comes back and outplays most of those he squares off against. Why? Put simply he has a developed football brain. The kids coming through the 20's for the most part do not.

The NRL made a big mistake by promoting the Toyota Cup to a level of importance it does not actually deserve.

If players keep filtering through at such young ages eventually it will denegrate the standard of the NRL to the touch football that the 20's is

i agree and have said that before but the fact remains that guys like Mortimer have helped the eels win 6 straight and has played a huge part just like Dugan,Idris,Coote,Lawrence, benji,Keating borthers,Inglis,Falou,Sandow,Pearce over the years

if you have exsperenced mixed in with youth it can help the team so much more

I don't disagree with that but looking at the experience we could be losing for the Titans match I do not think youth will tow the line.

FTR I would pick Meaney at fullback this week

Funny I never actually noticed it being promoted at all. First time I saw it being promoted was on the old forums under the guise of NYC (New York City :wink🙂

I've started to notice it being promoted a little bit lately but prior to that who gave a rats?
