Woods added as 19th man to NSW squad

Who do you think will now replace sims to join woods in the NSW camp?

I think Woods was a token selection with a view to the future. In all seriousness, he isn't ready for Origin so I think they will bring in a more experienced head now…

Someone like Watmough, Hoffman or Galloway will most likely be the best option.

Watmogh & Stuart apparently had an enormous row on the phone after his omission, Galloways toe injury imo will preclude him possibly, and Hoffman was just awful for City v Country

Have to disagree with you on that one sorry Watto. Woods hasn't taken a backward step all year and I think he'd handle Origin without a problem. I'd have him in there ahead of Merrin.

Woods = level head, massive heart, and amazing go forward, he will bring alot to the NSW team if selected to play. Given the opportunity he will show everyone how talented he is

I'd be concerned about him playing with only a few days notice…..on one hand it could be good if it worked that way (mentally not having to deal with it too long) , on the other it could be disastrous (sudden intro to camp for a rookie).
Im always a bit wary of too much too soon for young players.
Tend to agree with watty

Ink have to disagree After watching City v Country his name was being put forward by a fair few (myself included) as a big chance of making the 17 for NSW

wish him all the best.
if he does get a run, fantastic.
if not, it is a great opportunity to be on the origin camp.

Gallen's training with the squad this morning (footy show said so) so i'm guessing it's just about a certainty he'll play.
Woods would handle origin now as he's one of those players that has been unphased every time he's stepped up a level.
However, just being in the camp for the week will be fantastic for his development and is probably the right thing at this stage. Game 2 however…

Still unbelievble that this kid only turned 21 two months ago! What a player.

I just watched the replay, and Simms would've been rubbed out regardless for a contrary conduct…

On Aaron, just dont rush him... let him breathe another 12 months and he will be a better player. Being in the squad during preparation is a great learning curve for him for next year.

Robbie's old enough to get bashed by Queensland... I'm not so sure I want to see this for Aaron! (you guys do realise Queensland is gona smash the Blues?)

Massive wraps from Sterlo in particular and also Fittler ("he was my first prop picked for City"), Johns and Lewis.
Their consensus "he's ready"

If they don't realise yet Watto, they will by about 9.40pm on Wednesday

I'm not trying to gee them up re NSW v Qld…

I just feel some people dont realise this is not just another game of footy... This is State of Origin and many young tough blokes have had there arses kicked in this arena and banished with there tails between there legs.

Guys like Poore, Mannah were also apparently ready!!!

woods wont get a look in… he is there for the experience esp. if another coach takes over.... ricky doesnt believe Props are built for SOO... Id expect hinchcliffe to come in now... allready in melb

Agree that SoO is special and generally too tough for a young prop HOWEVER,
I think Woods is the best prop (as opposed to impact forward like T Sims) that i've seen come through any club in a very long time. Far better then Poore and Mannah for example.
He's truly special. I won;t be too upset if he doesn't play this year but I think he'll handle it if he is thrown in.

On the series, I hate to say it but I think the evil toads will make it 7 in a row but NSW are finally moving in the right direction and next year we'll get you.

Woods has put in Man of the Match performances against QLD's forwards, NSW's forwards and the NZ forwards at club level - to say he wont handle them in an Origin match is a bit hollow. Hope he gets a game, he thoroughly deserves it

Its not quite the same….its still NRL opposed to Origin

Its a huge step up thats for sure, but if not Woods then who else?

If form and ability/talent count for anything, then Woods has to be front and centre for a call up if Gal can't suit up.

I haven't seen much of him but Mannah seems to have fallen off the radar this year.
