Woods may have stayed if Ivan had come earlier

He is probably crapping his daks that Des won't be there when he lobs up next year. Canterbury are on track to fare worse than us next year and are looking at an unproven coach in Pay. Probably trying to right the ship so he doesn't get booed out of the club in his last home game or in the hope that the club may take him back if it all goes to pot at the Dogs.

I don't think for one minute that the Bulldogs will have a bad year next year. Will they win it? No.

They seem to turn the club around very quickly. They have the money to attract good players and strong management.

I think Turdesco showed his true colours when he signed with the Raiders. He was always about getting the best deal he can for himself. The club would have paid plenty to keep him.

I also get the impression Turdesco didn't like Robbie. I can't be sure about that and I don't have any inside info but that is the impression that I have. I think Robbie was pushed out so that the other 3 excluding Woods would have control of the team.

If anything I think Turdesco is the worst of the three although he is easily the best player.

I just want them gone so the club can rebuild.

We need to get behind Cleary and trust him, leave him there for a decade, but I fear if we don't go better next year the headhunters will be after him.

He deserves a decent time at the helm. He should be judged on performances but within reason. This year is a write off. I don't believe we have a squad that is a top 8 squad next year but I think we can build from next year onwards.

I honestly think Cleary should get to stay at least until the end of his current contract. If he continues to perform as he has then he should be given more time.

Woods is the modern day Blocker. A meathead prop given way too much time in the media to spew his idiocy.

Sure, many would call Blocker a meathead but he stayed with us when offered big money by other clubs. I often cringe at what he says but usually just give a shrug. Now I'll be able to say, he's our meathead.

Yeah not calling his loyalty into question, just that rent-a-quote type personality.

I find my respect for Woods diminishing. With Blocker, I'm prepared to cut him a little slack.

The timing of Taylor going doesn't prove nothing in your counter argument, if anything the club may have made that decision to sack Taylor in hope to persuade the big four to stay?..no one knows, if Woods is sincere, odds are greater than zero percent Taylor had some bearing on there decision to go if Cleary has made such an impression on him..that is all.

When has Woods been sincere about anything over the last 6 months?

I said in another thread that your marquee players rarely leave their current club if they are offered decent contracts. We just had a bunch of guys who were trying to shaft the club over as much as they possibly could. I wouldn't trust a word out of any of their mouths. I wish they were gone a lot sooner.

I hope that we turn this club around quickly from this low point and never develop players with the poor attitude that these 3 have had.

I don't think it was the case with Teddy, he knocked back more money with the Raiders to play with his mates after a conversation with his captain Robbie Farah..lets be honest here, the club and Taylor done the dirty on Robbie we don't know how that affected Teddy? who obviously looked up to him, we offered him more money than the Roosters and he still left… so there's more behind the reason for him leaving than him just shafting the club..I agree with you on Moses, and granted perhaps Woods is just spewing B.S..and yes Earl, we need to turn this club around and get behind them.

They are gone and in the circumstances, good riddance. Teddy had decided to stay before said conversation, and gave their manager the boot.

Bit of talk around the Dogs are after Trent Barrett

Yeah I heard that on BSB or Talkin' Bulldogs the other day. Think it might have been 2SM as I think it was Gerard Condom who said it, although he's generally godawful with his mail.

You'd have to think that Barrett has just re-built Manly and got them competing for the top 4 why would he even bother with a basketcase like Canterbury.

Interesting.

I read that earlier. I want him to go to the Dogs. He is a club killer. Overpaid and underperforming.

Can someone post how close we got to Corey Harawira- Naera in here to break up all this Woodsey backflip talk..

I would only keep him because there is no other decent props on the market.

Our pack would be killer

8\. Aaron Woods
9\. Jacob Liddle
10\. Russell Packer
11\. Elijah Taylor
12\. Chris McQueen
13\. Matt Eisenhuth

14\. Alex Twal
15\. Ben Matulino
16\. Josh Aloiai
17\. Jesse Sue

yeah i was disgusted with the way woods teddy and moses talked about the club in public. Say that crap in private. However you have to give it too teddu and woods they are putting in. Een with twal being a good prospect were still a decent prop down.

For the right price id keep him. He rarely gets injures and always tries. Our forward pack would be alot better.
