World War 3?

Some reporting coming out now that the gas used was US supplied, so it gets you wondering did Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon let rip with 59 Tomahawks in the name of humanity or to ensure the rest of his gas was destroyed?

Regardless, its nasty nasty politics at work!

Words are not necessary.

Has envy one seen the interview with Assad where he denies the chemical attacks?

Maybe I'm wrong or gullible but I tend to believe his versions or events over anything the western media has tried dish up.

What you are unbelievable. The media reported that they cannot show the worse injuries as too shocking. I think even media personnel can differentiate a chemical weapons attack from non chemical as well medical personnel are usually honest in reporting. Assad make a complete idiot of himself in that interview, first time that I can recall. I had more hope for him when he took over, thought he would be more humane and intellectual due to him being an eye specialist. Not that he could see better but being a professional person in the medical profession.

I'm not sure you could believe Bashar Al-Assad on any subject to be honest. The whole family are pretty ruthless. He's had a few goes at explaining what happened. If this was really some elaborate scam to justify an attack by the US it assumes the entire media is in on it and that the US really needs a justification like this to take action.

Propaganda is probably the greatest weapon of non-nuclear warfare.

The question for me is what result does Al-Assad get from sporadic small scale chemical attacks. I don't see any tangible gains, only severe downsides, which leads me to believe that puppeteers are behind these actions.

The result is the psychological value against the people it's being used against. By all means if there was some independent commentary that supported his contention fine, but there isn't. If you're going to believe what Assad says you're in for a wild ride. His old man was a piece of work, the son is worse and without the charisma.

Yeah, took all that into account and whilst I am swayed to believe otherwise, haven't totally discounted the option.

Maybe he likes it. Some people do you know.

Wise up.

By the way, who are these mystery puppeteers? They would have to have access to chemicals, the ability to handle and load them, and access to Syrian Air Force planes to deliver them. They must be top notch to have fooled all other Nations security services and the world press?

Thanks for a reasonable paragraph or more instead of your usual trash.

I have just lost a long reply through lack of reception and had to sign back in, so will only be writing another few words. Some of those pulling the strings being "Nations security services" that you alluded to above.

Not sure if Syria will start things. We are more worried about the Korean Peninsula which is not too far from Hong Kong where we live. Too many trigger happy cowboys up this way now.

Do you think North Korea actually has chemical weapons or is it all bluff?

The problem I have with a lot of this conspiracy theory stuff regarding the US orchestrating the attacks and the like is just the difficulty in actually containing that kind of information. It is very hard to keep that kind of thing buried and while I'm sure they vet the hell out of their secutiry services, acts that are that morallly repugnant are going to create whistleblowers.

I just don't see it. I understand that it's easy to buy into the logic of human greed but I don't think it's that easy to dismiss the human inability to keep a big, fat secret.

I don't know mate to be honest, but they have been testing nuclear bombs, so that in it self is a concern. I am hoping that China can play a bigger part in all of this, in a positive way. If war does break out it will impact China whether they like it or not.

As for us we had already planned to move back home to AU in early May, I just want peace for the region as the people in North Korea live off nothing. Uncertain times we live in.

Stay safe and welcome home.

Not sure about the situation myself, though it is likely that NK don't have any weapons but rather trying to persuade people that they are powerful.

Thanks mate. NK do have Nukes but the rockets to propel them are crap, these weapons need to be taken away from this looney.

From what I read NK has the bomb (depends on who you believe) but not the delivery mechanism as shown today. The only reason China wont get involved is because if Kim is taken out and a new regime (South and North reunification) it will put in place a more than likely US ally on there border which is not what they want. This will put the rest of the world on the hook until China takes an active role.
Anyway a safe a speedy trip home Muffstar

I hope that does happen. China and Russia aren't stupid enough to try and compete with the US and Korea.

China has a strong economy but it just about stops there.

I reckon the Chinese economy is far worse than many might believe

It's only as good as they tell us it is …..
