An odd one.
SP, South Pacific Brewery. The beer drunk near everywhere in Papua Niu Guinea. It's like VB but actually nice and tasteful. Basically some germain brewery make it and it's the country's default.
Damn nice.
dan Murphys used to have it. Just great stuff.
Unlike Nescafe Niugini blend. You have not tasted HELL in a cup till you have had that.

Back in the day I organised a work BBQ social function inside the Hahn Brewery on Parramatta Road. Chuck was kind enough to personally take us thru the site on a tour. We then fired up the BBQ and proceeded to quench our thirst. A short while later Chuck came over and was clearly worried. "Mate - your sausages are smoking thru the brewery - my beer will taste like a BBQ!" We thought about it and considered this to be a novel product development opportunity! Luckily for Chuck our keg was almost done and we wrapped up before any damage was done. BTW Chuck did try to brew a beer that had Vitamin B included so as to avoid a hangover. It fell flat!

Yes, had more than a few long nights at Port Moresby and Lae Yacht clubs where we put the SP to the test. And it was good !!
Also liked Samoan beer called Vailima Lager, very, very tasty. Made by Heineken in Apia, Western Samoa.
