That's Ok Watto you can put me on MOD Preview Least that way when I have a shot at Brisbane Easts I know you will read it

Brisbane Wests Players

Greg Oliphant
Norm Carr
John Ribot de Bresac Esq (I just love saying that name ,it just rolls off the tongue )
Tony Currie
Adrian Lam
Paul Vautin
Sean Berrigan
Scott Tronc
Mitch Brennan
Sorry also forgot Brad Thorn
We may not had many from 1980 onwards but you must admit that we probably had half the sides from 1970 -1976 The 1972 ,1975 and 1976 Wests Panthers side are regarded by many as some of the best ever sides ever in the Brisbane Rugby League

As a wests supporter - it really pains me to say this but Ken McGuiness should be included in the list.

Other notable mentions include the "three Phils":

Phil Bailey
Phil Duke
Phil Sigsworth

and…

Brett Kimmorley
Matty Seers
Jonathan Docking
Ross Conlon
Ryan 'O' Hara
Royce Aliffe
David Hall
Paul Field
Chris Walsh

And while he was by no means deserving to be in the list, other clubs would probably include Brett Hodgson who will forever be remembered for being rag dolled by big Gordy and throwing the intercept pass that lost the series in 2006.

like most of this list, however I think that Brett Kimmorley is well out of place on that list, he is a very good first grader at worst.

People often talk about Quinn, Turner etc being picked when Belamy was the NSW coach.

Ken McGuinness was picked when Tommy was coach so there will always be some bias to players from their own club. From memory Kenny had a memorable Origin career, scored a try, set up another and then one game Tommy forgot he was on the bench and left him there for the whole 80 minutes.

4 pages and Ken McGuinness is yet to be mentioned.

Same reason David Brooks doesn't get a run. Ken was mentioned (not by name) pretty early on in this thread though.

David Brooks is alot better than alot of others and is far from the worst, find you, there is a heap of other blokes on here that are no where near the worst.

Had a look at some Qlder's, Jeremy "shoe" Schloss, Craig Teeven, Stu Kelly, Terry Cook, Clint O'Brien, Tony Hearn plus a heap of players earlier, many I've never heard of, but being BRL players have no idea if they are good or not, so I wont mention them.

Dane Nielson? i'm sure QLD have had some worse centres then him. Adam Mogg springs to my mind. I'd also have him in front of Willie Tonga, who i think has been massively over-rated his entire career

Adam Mogg only played on the Wing. Funnily enough, he became a 'State Hero' with his 2 tries in his first game (Game 2 - 2006) to equal the series, and then he scored another try in game 3 to help ensure Qld Won the series and broke NSW winning streak of 3 straight series (if you could call it a winning streak)…

Being a Queenslander, he would've gone on to play a few more games after his efforts, but he played in the UK from 2007.

Willie Tonga has a great SOO record and has proven he is more than capable on the Rep Stage... He is well regarded North of the Border!

You can do heaps better than that!

Terry Cook, Craig Teeven, I have no idea who Bob Kellaway, but as the only origin player without a Wiki page, he must get a run.

This should help you find some nuffies

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Queensland_rugby_league_team_players

I should point out I'd love to be on the "worst of origin list" so no disrespect to anyone mentioned on here.

Bob Kellaway was a stalwart of the BRL… He was a Prop who did the hard yards and was well respected.
He also went onto Coaching for many years during and after his career.

Happy may know more about him as he coached Ipswich Jets for a couple of years...

Fair enough, the lack of wikipedia page gave me a false impression of his ability.

One more name that ill throw in is Jim Serdaris.
Admittedly a very good player, however he had a shocker of a series in 1995 and was completely outplayed by Wayne Bartrim. Which really did hurt NSW considering Elias retired in 1994 and would of been eligible if he played in 1995.
I think his poor series was shown by the fact that in the following years they decided to play Johns and Toovey out of position at hooker (Until Toovey became a specialist Hooker at the end of his career).

Yeah Watto Bob originally played for Souths in Brisbane and moved to the Jets and played under Tommy Raudonikis in 85,86 and 87 Along with Glen Haggath the most professional players \trainers I had seen at that stage He was a hard nosed prop very tall and rangy not real quick (probably Skandos pace) but like many props from the early 80's was as hard as hard can be
