Let me state at the outset that over the years I have been one of his greatest supporters, no matter what jersey he was wearing. Nevertheless, once rumours started about he and Benji - which I took with a grain of salt - I have often thought whether there is room for someone else in the team to be the leader as long as Robbie is there? Let's face it, there hasn't really been much competition, or any emerging leader, but is this because Robbie casts such a large shadow on the team that is difficult for someone else to tell him "Step aside, I am calling the plays". Or is it because he feels that unless he steps up, no one else will? Ego can be a difficult beast to control.

Yes of course we would be worse off I think Robbie will come to the fore even more now Benji is going.
As for woods VC I think he has really struggled through this origin period perhaps with niggling injuries, but he's too young no need to place undue pressure on the kid he's only 21/22 I think front rowers mature at at 24/25 so maybe in a few years.

Robbie has a lot to work on but he is our best player. I see him as leading us to a much better couple of years over the next couple of seasons.

Not sure what the OP meant. Was it that we would be better off without Robbie at our club? If so, that is ridiculous. Or was it that that Robbie is such a overbearing presence that he needs to take more of a backseat to let other blokes have their share of the responsibility? If so, I would probably agree with that to an extent but we are such a young batch of players with leaders like Galloway and Lote off the field that it is difficult to give the youngsters too much of a role in the running of the side.

Robbie is our inspirational, champion leader. Without him we would be more of a rabble than what we are. (Wish he would stay out of the media every 5 minutes though, outspoken players can really be a pain in the arse very quickly and he seems to have a tendency to voice his opinions on every subject in the NRL).

I think he meant the latter - Robbie is leading our attack the entire time pretty much (not his fault given the squad) and no one else really has the chance to attack in their own right, if that makes sense. It's kinda as if, by being so good at attacking himself, he's strangling any other efforts. (Again, not his fault). At least that's my interpretation of what OP meant.

I think the negative posts in here about Robbie are confusing "taking too much control" with "nobody else will step up". It's like SOO… I am guessing Robbie would love to have a Thurston outside him to step up and organise, but instead he's got a Benji and a Pearce.

You can't make claims about egos, you don't even know the guy...

Sure he had a bad game last night, I was there. But we'd be more screwed without him.
