Would you get rid of Robbie next year if......

I never thought i would say or want to see Robbie leave but i truely believe the time is right. His form has been average for 2 seasons now and we have lost him for approx 8 weeks each yr due to origin and injury. We are headed for the spoon and at the lowest point of our existence and need to rebuild and do it quick. We really need the cap relief we would get from him moving on.

If we are going to bleed with loses of senior and overpaid players such as Galloway and Lawrence then we are better of sorting it out now than going through this again next yr and all the speculation re his position and money he could free up this time next yr when he will be another yr older and probably even less dominant.

Mania is probably not 100% ready but has shown he has plenty to offer and having Farah hasn't seen us avoid the spoon, so we cant do any worse.

In terms of experience, well we will miss it but the money saved will allow more than one player with it to be bought in.

Here's a quote from Farah after he re signed in 2013…

"Things happen that make you upset or cranky, but I see it as my responsibility to lead this club out of the tough times and turn it around.

"That's the challenge before me and I don't take it lightly. Sometimes you think it's all too hard and you need a fresh start to get away from it all. But realistically, when I sat down to think about wearing the colours of another club it just didn't feel right to me.

"I want to win and be successful. But winning at another club just wouldn't have been the same as the Tigers."

He now has the opportunity to captain his club for a decade and reach the 300-game milestone in the same colours.

"That legacy matters just as much - if not more - as success on the field," he said.

To me Farah is a double edged sword: he obviously cares so much about the tigers but at the same time I think he has impeded progression.

Up until last season when he played such a big part (from what I read) in Tedesco staying, I thought he was just too selfish and not the leader he wanted to be. I recanted all that after reading a bit on here, and in my opinion he has been actively taking a step back for the benefit of the club this season: the antithesis of selfish.

Having said this, as purely a player and captain, I rate his importance lower than most seem to. But I really doubt there is going to be a huge poach of him at this stage. Maybe he should've gone to parra a few seasons back?

Long story short, I don't think the club will get a good enough deal to let him go.
