Would you support the WT if they moved to WA ?

I have lived in HK for the past 2 years and have another 2 to go unfortunately, but I still watch all the games either on TV or stream and still get very passionate about the Tigers playing, so for me if they moved to Perth or stayed in Sydney would make no difference.

The only thing I would add is how I miss not seeing them live each week, until that being at the game feeling stops, you won't know what you are missing and it feels really shallow

I can see it happening after the Balmain Leagues club site is turned into a craft market & spiritual healing centre,in a 2nd Tier NRL competition, the Balmain Ryde-Eastwood-North Sydney Terrigal Tiger-Sharks versus the Perth Western Red Magpies.

Yeah a move to Perth would be fantastic.
All the Wests, Balmain & Wests Tigers fans would finally have a single place to call home & watch the boys.
Our young star juniors will love the chance to leave little Sydney town for the big time in Perth.
Tigers club memberships would go through the roof as the Perth juggernaut took over the whole of W.A.
All Tigers in Sydney unite now & demand a move to Perth!
You know it makes sense!

Relocate to WA?

Yeah I'm in. Untapped market, huge resources, diverse fan base spread across the country, dissolve the joint venture and create a football club.

Finally get direct flights from Gladstone to Sydney and then you blokes want to move them to Perth

Thanks guys :roll

Watto's idea is pretty good except for 1 thing Moving them to Langlands Park isn't an issue , not the worse place for a beer

Its the new fan base we acquire , bit like merging with a combination of the Rabbitohs and Bulldogs , only worse

Would you support the WT if they moved to WA ? …i probably would but gee it would be hard especially since i couldnt go to any games on a regular basis.

i think we've suffered enough being a merger of two clubs and done the hard yards already.

we would definitely have to be at the bottom of the list of all the teams in the NRL to relocate and it would never happen no matter what situation was with one of our leagues clubs or with the current admin issues.

I support my local team. What possible incentive do I have to follow a team that would become, geographically, the furthest away????

And yet I can support them from the West, never having been to a game! How could so many of you give up on your team so easily if they moved?

Give the younger guys/gals a break Florrie

They haven't supported the team through the good times and bad times like us older fans who don't have a team on our back door

Especially us black birds who have seen half a dozen wooden spoons , our team thrown out of the comp and then reinstated and then made to merge with another club that we mightn't have been fans of

We play 4 games a year in a untapped market.. Nswrl though campbelltown needed a side 25 years ago, I agree with someone earlier on, sharks or roosters to leave.
I think sharks would fit Perth and roosters would fit central Queensland, can't see it happening though.

Then you only have to add two teams, central coast and a second kiwi team.

I honestly couldn't say i'd know the answer to that until it happened. My gut feeling is going through the merger once was enough, without now adding relocation. Anyway, it's something i hope i never find out the answer to.

How come people can follow teams on the other side of the world in the EPL, NFL etc then say they couldn't follow a team in another state? I know it won't happen but i find that curious

For me it is a betrayal to relocate. Wouldnt care if it was to the Central Coast, if it were a full time move that would be it.

I went in with the JV initially because it guaranteed survival in unknown times and still saw us playing out of Leichhardt even if it were reduced. To have made that sacrifice as two clubs only to go to the other side of the country while teams like the Roosters remained would be the last straw for me personally

They should relocate them to Queensland and be based at Langlands Park… There is already a Tigers Leagues Club there waiting

I would be able to see every home game!! Howevder, Langlands Park would need a massive overhaul and I can't see the QLD government - especially with Can stuff the State Campbell in charge - forking out for a new stadium. It would mean every game being played at Suncorp - a place that just reeks of Donkey.

It would be a betrayal by the NRL. I would like to think that there is no way the NRL would allow Wests Tigers or St. George-Illawarra to relocate. Both clubs have already made a sacrifice for the betterment of the game. It should not happen again to those fans.

If we were forced to relocate, the last straw for me would actually be to see Manly and Cronulla continue to survive playing at Brookvale & Shark Park respectively. At least the Roosters play at the SFS, a ground that meets the "criteria" of 1999\. Manly and Cronulla epitomise the major issue that hangs around the NRL like a bad smell - club self interest. The game cannot move forward with dead wood clinging to the game pushing their own specific interests.

It would be the final straw for me. I was a magpies supporter but also played junior footy with the balmain wanderers so I wasnt TOO unhappy with the merger.

If they moved to Perth I would kiss the relationship goodbye. I live on the central coast so hopefully the Tigers would move ther first.

I guess I could cheer for the Tiger Sharks but more then likely I would lose interest.

I wouldn't be happy if that were to happen but given they are my team i would still support them. I couldn't support any other side whilst there is a hint of my former team still running around. It would be tough but i'd build a bridge and eventually get over it.
