such a change

yeah i know injuries etc, but he is nothing compared to this anymore

he needs to FULLY RECOVER and make his way back slowly. id rather give him a season off and get him back to 100% than see a 60% performance each week.

Have you considered this is as good as he will recover? I don't think he'll ever be what he once was. He could try and lose 5-6kg and see if his speed and mobility returns, but otherwise I think injury has cruelled Rowdy's career.

Add to that a sprint coach who can rebuild his running style and you are smack on Willow

If it is true that he has been playing with multiple injuries every week then he must take as much time is needed to fully recover and give his career the best shot - otherwise he is doing no-one any favours, especially himself.

Wow Wow Wow.
I almost forgot how good he was. I don't
how to feel watching him. I don't think he can be half as good as he was.
What a Shame.
He could have been anything. We had our own GInglis

The reality is that's two different players there. One's unrestricted and the best centre in the game in 2013\. The other is the one who never really recovered from that hip injury and is in a real battle for form. So sad to watch that and realize what IS and what could've been.

Wow is right..Still a great player unfortunately that speed that he used to score those tries is gone.
Might have to try and move into the forwards on a permanent basis.

Scintillating speed and power - unfortunately the only time we are likely to see this again is on the highlight reels

If you really think 12 months on the sidelines is gonna magically spark a return of the old Chris Lawrence than you've been spending too much time in Bonnydoon with Darryl Kerrigan

I hope he watches this while he is sitting out injured.
That should remind him of his glory days and i hope he can return to his best

If watching a video can somehow magically transform you then chances are we'd see a hell of a lot more sportsmen 10-15 yrs past their prime suddenly re-producing their old form. Its not as simple as just watching a few videos. The kid just can't do what he use to anymore. Sad but true

The only thing that makes me think that he might get back to his best is Matt Bowen and how long it took him to regain his best form after a dislocated hip. He was older as well. 2010 with Ellis, Lawrence and Tuqiri on the left we were nearly unstoppable. Seriously, who broke the mirror?

I'm with Willow Lawrence has to reinvent himself , the idea of loosing weight has merit and a change in body mass in certain areas could work. To be honest if he doesn't I think it could be curtains for him as an NRL player probable would work out in the ESL.

Great video and all the more sad to see what's happened since…I've no doubt Chris would have played origin, he was already on the cusp I'm sure.

You'd have to think Chris put on extra weight to protect or help with the injuries... It surely would not be this simple.. As many have said he looks like he should be playing 3-5 kilos lighter or so. Maybe he needs extra weight for whatever reason... I'm sure these hamstring issues are directly related to the hip... I didn't know about any knee issues though... I think I remember he did have some shoulder issues... The hip injury and related hamstrings is what has affected him the most.

Champion player and seems like a legend of a bloke also... Just makes it so sad... He's obviously very tough and dedicated but I so wonder what the future will bring in terms of his fitness and ability to play at a good nrl level moving forward.
