WT logo's and stadiums

I think we need sfs to make the balmain side happy I can't see them agreeing to ship the whole thing to Campbelltown. So sfs and CSS would be a good fit, with COE @ Campbelltown. 6 games split between the two grounds will also help gain more WT members imo.

Hope the day comes when we don't have to queue up to get over the railway bridge after the match.

Was better when it was a level crossing and the drunks played chicken with the trains.

Actually….probably not.

Very much doubt they will build a stadium at campbelltown, they will place it further north were multiple transport arteries intersect.

Also the crowds at Campbelltown don't justify increased capacity based infrastructure yet (2005 was closest we got to filling it out for multiple matches, not even 2010 or 2011 were the crowds hitting the mark to justify it).

I'd consider building a training base somewhere between Liverpool and CSS. I'd also look at moving the SFS games to ANZ and doing a reciprocated membership entry deal so that Souths and Bulldogs games are included in memberships that have ANZ games included. Start at a 4-4(+2)-4 split and then put all emphasis on the football team, better coaching, better recruiting, better strength and condition coaching, better medical staff etc

It is time to adopt a jersey design and stick with it. I am happy with the direction of the club in the jersey contest, throw in a gold reversal of the same design and stick with them.

I wouldn't mind seeing the logo redone also, the current one is very tacky…

Not sure if it can be done or not but if all this fighting is where the magpie sits on the jersey is it that hard to have the magpie on the left side and the tiger on the right side of the jersey.

Um, I seem to be a bit forgetful these days but what appears on the left breast of our jersey these days?

But seriously, the two small magpies is really not a major issue, and I don't see why people think it is.

They appear there because the Tiger is the main logo, and if I remember the original agreement, by taking the name and logo of the Tiger (which would be the main marketing and branding feature) the Magpie was put on the sleeves to create an equal balance between the two sides. And before anyone argues that it isn't the Balmain logo, yes it isn't the old one but if you think about it by now it would have been likely that Balmain would have modernised their logo anyway.

If this is the issue that people feel is the line in the sand, then we seriously have major problems.

also if its about stadiums obviously liechhardt is falling apart and state gov and fed wont refurb it why can't we play sfs and Campbelltown. Is concord oval worth upgrading and lobbying government?
Just some ideas tired of this bs fighting

Concord is a non option, not enough room for major upgrading and zero parking. Plus it is located on one of the busiest roads in Sydney that could not handle increased traffic on game days.

Could we not play out of Skoda Stadium??

Skoda is purely an AFL stadium, though it used to be able to host NRL games following the upgrade it no longer works as a league stadium.

I miss hearing the sound of the bridge closing and all the drunks booing collectively.

I don't know if SFS would keep the Balmain side happy, has no connection to the club. Homebush is in the balmain catchment these days, and is a lot easier for most people to get to (but terrible atmosphere with anything less than a crowd of 25k). I'd still like to see a few games at Leichhardt for as long ad possible.

Like it or NOT it's looking more and more like CSS for more home ground games!!! :astonished:

That may be the case, but it will have to be a gradual move until we can start pulling better crowds at Campbelltown on a consistent basis. Remember we need a really decent crowd there just to break even financially, and the club is not flush with cash to be throwing away guaranteed income elsewhere.

I don't know what all the smiley faces are about, but as a JV it is only natural that we should be aiming for an even split eventually between the inner city and south west. However that may depend somewhat on the state governments stadium strategy, and whether Campbelltown is their intended western sydney location.

Couldn't agree with you more. The smiley faces are intended to Baboon who has made it quite clear in other threads that he/she is to good to travel to CSS to follow his/her so called team. I'm all for the JV lost 3 years of watching league 2000/2003 over it and promised never to look back and I won't !!

It depends on what comes of the proposed training facility. If it goes ahead it can only mean a stronger presence in the Macarthur region.

For those asking why we can't have a Magpie on the front of the jersey on the left side, it comes down to the NRL as they essentially own all the logos that appear on the front of the jersey. Only NRL approved and sanctioned logo's (Club & NRL) can appear on the front of the jersey.

Not sure why people still bang in about drawing crowds at CSS

Average is not world apart and this is on the back of the club admitting they dropped the ball in the area in the way of promotion and recapturing a chunk of disenfranchised fans. If you don't want to travel out to CSS then you won't be watching much live footy.

Mate it's not a competition between LO and CSS. The point remains that if the club is to move games with guaranteed revenue from the inner city out to Cambo, we need consistently big crowds there to make it happen.

As it stands we can play in a completely empty SFS and make a motza each week, but play in front of big crowds at our traditional grounds and struggle to break even.

Back when we first moved to homebush we were guaranteed $75k each home game (almost ten yrs ago), and you can only assume we are making more than that with this SFS deal.

That's why people are banging on about the crowds in this thread.

waaa waaa waaaaaa, us, them, the other side, bla bla bla, we got nothing, we got this, you got that, this, that, magpies this, balmain that, blaaaa blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa …

BEST INTERESTS FOR THE WESTS TIGERS, FIRST, LAST and everything IN-BETWEEN !! THAT'S WHAT IT SHOULD BE ABOUT !!!

Push the NRL to guarantee revenue streams in the grant for playing more games out of the south west corridor.

See how we can build that fan base in that time to be able to properly assess the longevity of keeping this moving forward without the NRL assistance.

Centre of Excellence is a terrible idea anywhere. These things end up as a gravy train for all the leeches attached to the junior leagues who are only out for themselves and their edification. The money is much better spent by upgrading exisiting facilities and ensuring a better NRL wide community engagement. Because though I would love all the talent from the area in our system it is more important that we get them into any system to broaden their chances of reaching their potential.

The NRL needs to engage with the south west corridor, not just Wests Tigers
