WT NSW cup team for 2013

So with Balmain being in the red by millions of dolllars….

And the proposed NSW Cup side being called Wests Tigers....

Ryde Eastwood drop out their funding of Balmain....

how are Balmain paying their half of the of the Joint Venture?

Whats to pay???

If the Wests Tigers have a short fall for the trading year, they can get a loan.

:sign:

Best thing for the club moving forward that will hopefully put an end to the infighting from all sides of the amalgamation

Sad day for Wests and Balmain though

Would Wests and Balmain still run sides in the Bundy Cup ??

great news. if wests tigers want to be considered a serious superclub, this had to happen. i am very happy with this decision

I'm happy with the direction it's taken, it can only benefit our team, but I must agree with Galahs on the issue it has still got to have a vote from its members, otherwise being a WT, Magpie or Balmain member means absolutely nothing.

It actually doesn't have to be voted on by the members of either club. There is nothing in the the WT Joint-Venture Agreement which refers to NSW Cup, so this was a board decision and it's been made. There is also nothing stopping Wests or Balmain entering their own NSW Cup teams, it just means there will be WT State Cup team, which presumably will field all the WT contracted players.

So they're proposing as close to a 50/50 split as you can get and clearly you're still not happy??

Bout time….great decision if and when it gets confirmed....It was a waste fielding 2 teams ....

The way the comp is now...who cares about it anyway..

Ask them.

Galahs… You Balmain death riding is getting old pal!!
what does this have to do with Balmain or the Magpies?
Wests Tigers want to field thier own side, there is nothing they need from Balmain or the Magpies to do it.
Maybe they have independant sponsors to fund the side... Simple fact remains you don't know what they're doing, And pretending you do is outlandish...
You seem to be of some belief that WT's need the Balmain and Magpies senior sides... News flash champ...
YOU'RE WRONG!!
If Magpies continue to exist in NSW cup, Good on them... If Balmain do... Good on them as well!!
But this is the best thing to ever happen since the merger....
One team, One system, One Banner, One Future!!

WE just want to see our Clubs 104 year history remain and they want to remove it WHY WOULD WE BE HAPPY????

You need to take emotion out of the equation. It's a professional business and the powers that be won't mind if 1% of the fans are upset about the club making a business decision to ensure it's future remains viable.

Moving forward, it's a damn good decision.

Nobody is stopping Wests Magpies entering a team in Bundy Cup, the NSW State Cup or the Sydney AFL comp. We're talking about the feeder team for the Wests Tigers NRL team. It's time to face facts - the Magpies are not a first grade team, Wests Tigers are. Decisions need to be made on what benefits the Wests Tigers and treats both sides of the JV equally.

Let em cry Yoss. Wests were never going to remain competitive if things continued down the same path as this year. It's actually a win for Wests as they will have more of a say in the JV now. The simple and narrow-minded fail to see this right now, but in time, their vision will clear.

Love your work Willow, Let them cry. It's attitude like this that upset people. Now what was it that you gained from trying to be honest. Do you really think that these people that share a beer at Ashfield or Campbelltown leagues have cared about seeing Balmain Leagues get up and running, they wouldn't shed a tear. At the moment Balmain have Harry, for how long, will they sell themselves out and move to Campbelltown, on the other hand, the Magpies have 2 leagues clubs and there not going anywhere. Now this is where the tissues come out. Who do you think has the power? Definitely sooks like us on this forum.

I wonder who will be the coach of the WT NSW Cup next year… Georgallis or Simmons would appear to be the likely candidates. I was surprised when we signed Royce for an assistant coach next year, as I'd assume that you would only need one, but I'm not sure if this is the norm & other clubs also have 2 assistant coaches as well. But it seems a waste of money to me.
