If we can't beat them in the centres we will beat them in the forwards.

we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender…

look what happened @ Gallipoli

thankfully this was a churchill (ie; WWII) speech!

I've come to the conclusion our centres have a photo of Mick Potter doing the bubbler. Why else would they get picked?

And just need woods and farah to play well tomoz but don't over exert yourselves boys unless you have the opportunity to take out DCE. Not long term. Just a week or so.

there are other factors to selecting a side than just purely form.

Salary Cap is a major factor that people always seem to overlook it hampered us last year and seems to be doing the same this year.

With Moltzen, Tedesco, Fulton, Sue, Anasta, Simona, Thompson, Paterson all unavailable from the Top 25 most of them have had to miss games over the season. The way the second tier cap is structured you can't play a player eg Fine over a top 25 player in Lulia (that is based on wages). If we are anywhere close to the cap limit for the second tier cap which i would imagine we would be with guys like BMM, Koro and Naiyaravoro leaving from the top 25 and players like Akuola, Lodge, Rowe, Luani all getting runs in the top grade squad for a period along with bonuses I don't like our chances of playing younger players this year due to such factors

Thank goodness at least one person understands the complexities of selecting a team due to salary cap in particular, and other considerations. Having said that, enduring another Lulia performance like that he put on against Penrith is going to be tough going. Lawrence I can live with; his start to the season wasn't too bad. I'm hopeful (but not optimistic) that we have seen his worst over the past couple of weeks and things might turn for the better.

Where is Sitaleki? He might be a bolter for the centre spot if not injured. Would've preferred Sitaleki instead of lodge tbh on the bench.

WATTA set of forwards though.

We are the western allied forces, so highly appropriate!

If Halatau is there to cover dummy half and centre, Wouldn't it be better to have him fresh coming off the bench?

I don't think they're planning on Farah having a spell, might depend on the scoreline late in the game. I'm happy with Halatau at second row, doesn't have the dynamism of Thompson but I'd say he'll be more consistent across 80.
Massive bench. Massive smile on my face. I think we'll run 'em close.

Good side given injuries and suspensions with the obvious exception of the centres. We must be pushing the cap for Lawrence and Lulia to keep being selected over the kids. Who knows, Lawrence may have a balltearer this weekend, he's about due. Sick of Lulia only ever being seen running the pill up first pass out of a scrum though… Have a go or do everyone a favour and jog on.

This side just shows how much we need to invest in outside back depth for next year. In season's past we had guys like Nofa, Koro, Simona coming through the ranks who were all destined for NRL. Can't say the same this year.
